Yes Germany would have won the war in Europe if the had conducted operation Sea lion (the invasion of the British Isles) before they conducted operation Barbarossa (invasion of Russia). They could have secured the front and only had to deal with a land war vs Russia which would have been manageable since the Russians would not have been receiving the material aid they did from USA and England. The British Military was on the verge of collapse until Hitler order a change in the bombing priorities due to a successful air raid against Germany. |

Probably, the Germans were defeated by British courage and determination but aided a hell of a lot by luck , Hitler being a tw*at by invading Russia and the Americans basically out producing the Germans with Tanks etc. The British may have held back an invasion but with the Atom bomb being developed by the Nazis if they had succeeded they would have dropped it on us for sure.
We have a lot to thank the USA for even if Hollywood portrays history as all their own work! |

Hitler's biggest mistake was to fight a war on two fronts. The eastern front with Russia the westrn front against the allies. had Hitler not attacked Russia and the USA had not joined the war then the likelyhood of the axis powers winning WW2 would have increased significantly. |

I think Britan,Scotland Ireland etc.. maybe would have been able to fend off Germany, If the Americans had still continued to supply them with war materials. You have to remember, Americans entered the war before the Country did as volunteers. Mostly as fighter Pilots and grounds crews. Also Russia has Royalty ties with Britan and without Russia fighting by Germanys side to defeat the English I fidn it even more doubtful. |

Without question yes. Germany would not have had to commit as many troops and materials to North Africa, millions of troops would not have had to go to the Eastern Front and by 1940/41 only Britain remained a realistic opposition in Europe. With the full might of the German army, air force and Navy to bring to bear on Britain the war would not have lasted more than six months |

its hard to say, because britain was the second most powerful country in the world and americas econamy did not long take over the brits.the britsih empire was fookin huge so if the germans had took britain the rest of the world would of bin gone too due to how many square miles of terortory the germans would of equired off the british.at the same time the americans played a real big part in the war but they dident come into it til 1941.realisticaly the bristish need the americans help but the americans needed the british but you carnt forget france they tryed as much as they could.oh btw it was britain who libarated france |

Probably but that's a serious "what if" to think about.
I can't think of any scenario which would have kept the U.S. out. I think it was inevitable that we would be in it. |

It has to be remembered that the UK had a stronger navy and excellent airforce, so they could have held out for a very long time. Also the possibility that Hitler could have been assasinated needs to be played in. What if he had been killed? Who would have taken over? The Germans would have beaten the Brits , but I think it would have taken a while, in which time the rest of europe would have rebelled. |

If the Americans had not come to our Aid we would have lost the warEven if russia wasn't invaded. We were on our knees after the evacuation off Dunkirk beach. and that is when Hitler was preparing to invade Britain By sea landings and Airborne landings. His Battleships would have been in the English Channel Supporting the Landing troops. WE were that close. !! |

Without a doubt-not even up for debate-my friend!!
The Russian Winter was easily the most potent weapon used against the nazis in WW2. |

Most likely, but not attacking the USSR would've not been what Hitler was all about...... |

NO. if you read and wach some of the very good documentries you will find that hitler did not want war with britain. he admired the fact we ruled india with such a small force and planed to do the some with ussr. also there was strategy war games in the 70s with surviving generals and commanders who would have conducted sealion and those who would have repelled it. the outcome was that the german invasion would have died out and we would have regained our island back. but who knows it is all just speculation. However the nazi's by end of ww2 had near compleated a icbm that was capable of reaching new york and it is believed it would have carried some type of dirty bomb. |

i don't think the Brits would've have fallen. They proved it in the Battle of Britain.
The Swedes resisted successfully and I think france would've eventually mounted a better insurgency.
I think the germans would've held onto most of the land adjacent but would've eventually lost it back from a coalition of unconquered countries and with economic/material support from the West.
Plus the Aussies and Canucks fight like tigers too. |

Yes. If the U.S. had not intervened. The 3rd Reich had a very concise, detailed plan. With Europe being the killshot for the Win. In place within the Parliment Germany had its chair. The French resistance was a pain in the **** for them. And the US was only but an effective divergence that kept the Nazi's supplies and men busy. Some interesting scenarios. Like when Russia beat the German offensive and made them run for home freezing their toes off. What if Hitler would not have attacked at that time. but waited till another theater was over. |

Everyone is so stuck on the fact that Hitler WANTED to invade and conquer England that one question is missing....
...did Hitler want the hassel of owning a country like ours with all the crap that went with it?
I believe Hitler did not want to invade Blighty for the simple reason that he did not want to waste thousands of troops trying to control a country that was rebelling everywhere. Can you seriously imagine Blighty folk just turning over and letting Hitler rule as he wished? Of course not! Plus the fact that we are an island and keeping law, order, supplies etc with Blighty would cost a heck of a lot.
Hitler would have left us alone if the Yanks had not entered. He probably would have mullered our airforce and crippled our navy, but I believe he would have left the invasion well alone. |

within days. America would not have even had the chance to enter. Opening the second front Gave the UK a chance. |

No. I'm sure we all have imagined what the world would be like if the Allies didn't intervene. A Europe for Christians, free from all other religions. Sounds great eh? It does appear though that all of Europe will fall to Brussels and the mega Dictatorship called the European Union. God help us all. |

What everyone has missed here is the fact that Hitler had no want of war with Great Britain, he in fact admired us as a world role model and no thought was really ever put into invading the UK it was all half hearted improvision more to scare the UK to negotiate see Von Mansteins Lost Victories.
The attack on Russia was a very much needed as documents that have come to light in Russia in the past few years show that Operation Barbarossa was a pre-emtive attack.
If Hitler had not stuck at the USSR we would have all been fighting the reds by the late 40s |

Russia is in Europe so they would have had to attack it ...'eventually'. So that is not even a hypothetical Question. Would you want to be German.... They are just humans like us. |

Germany woudl have won the war, ie not a war on two fronts., Britain would eventually fall to Germany but not soon nor easily but eventually yes |

You can really only speak in probabilities when you talk about what might have happened.
It probably would have. |
