For example... my wife needs to have her wisdom teeth removed. Does our dental plan cover this? How much do we have to pay out of pocket, if any?

2 free cleanings a year, 1 xray every 2 years, 1 full mouth xray every 3 years, then up to 80% covered on all work done with a cap of $1200 per year paid for by them. Basic silver fillings are between $15 and $25 depending on the dentist cost to you. Root Canals and be from $200 and $600. Wisdom Teeth it will depend if all 4 removed at once then laughing gas or full knock out is paid for and will cost anywhere from $400 to $600 for you; if only 2 then it is not covered so will be about $400 to $600 as well. If by a major MTF (Military Treatment Facility) they might be authorizing dependents to have work done so you will pay partial.
It is a decent program, considering you are paying $13 for 1 dependent or $32 for a family (AD member is covered for free) |
