I am trying to figure all this out logically I mean it is April 2009 and the US hasn't changed. Bush is out of office now so wouldn't it of already happened by now? I mean didn't George W Bush want to declare martial law on the US in 2006-2008?

The most important word in your question is, "IF." IF this were a real supposition, then yes, it seems like we should already be in the camps.
The problem is that the "camps" don't exist, and there is no direct plan to put ANYONE into camps. |

President George W Bush did NOT want to declare martial law. The so called FEMA camps as your link describes them do not exist. If I had to guess, I suspect Sen Leahy WROTE the provision he was 'complaining' about and inserted it into a bill he KNEW the President would sign. |

I read roughly the same thing being said, about the President Clinton, about 10 years ago. The ideological gap between democrats and republicans is more amongst supporters then the politicians, they all have a vested interest; Staying in Power, but not really changing anything. Bush could have declared Martial Law 12 September 2001 and got the approval of congress, the supreme court and most of the people, he didn't.
I think we are kind of like Rome at the end of the republican period, when the Roman senate was more concerned with themselves then with Rome or the people. |
