I was just curious i'm not sure how it works. One of my friends said that you stay out there for up to a whole year, but he's not in the military.

its a unit thing, when your unit goes you go, 8 months to a year at a time. Then back to where your unit bases, Germany, US or where ever. |

There is no set time frame..... anywhere from eight months to a year normally but they can keep you longer if they want
You normally deploy as a unit..... and return home as a unit.....but the turn around time depends on the war |
