Secure the current hostages. Then work with our allies to form shipping convoys escorted by Naval vessels. Dispatch a MEU (SOC) with associated Wasp-class carrier group for punitive raids on the Somali coastal cities that support piracy.

I'd also call for a summit on the problem with the world's major exporters. Be a chance to force OPEC to negotiate from a position of weakness for once.

Phase #1 Send it the Seals and DELTA Force to retake the ships.
Phase 2 launch a strike against the pirates HQ.s

Phase 3 let the Army and Marines clean up the cities in a mop up action.

phase 4 set up a legitimate government.

i would tell Obama to watch pirates of the Caribbean, then make a decision.

are you guys trying to get people killed? obviously if you had snipers shooting at people, they would kill the poor guy. If you sent a letter to the family you know how much the US would look down at you for not finding a better approach. I'm glad we have Obama in charge now, not you scum bags.
