If you work as "civilian military" do you actually have to enlist?

Okay, this may be a "duh" sort of question, but my husband is considering applying for a job in the civilian military, and we just want to make sure that doesn't mean he's actually enlisting in the armed forces. Does anybody know for sure?

no, those type of jobs are just contracted with the military. he wont have to enlist. :] i know what your talking about.

i'm not sure what kind of job he is looking at though. i know the one my husband was looking at he would had have to deployed for 3-6 months. so make sure he knows all the details about the job.

there is no such thing as civilian military.

he would either be a government employee, a government contractor, or he would be enlisted.

Are you talking about a civilian job for the military? A DOD job? If so no.

He is most likely a scientist or cleaning/handy man. He does not have to enlist or go through any sort of basic training. About 20% of our military is made up of people who are technically civilians, but they just do jobs for the government.
