Im 14 and i want to join the army at 16 with parents permission, is there anything i can do now to practise for the army

You can't join until you are seventeen and then only with your parent's permission. For now focus on your schoolwork and developing your mental abilities. You may also want to work on your physical fitness; develop your upper body and core strength and build cardiovascular endurance.

Play sports: be physically fit, learn teamwork, and learn to take direction.
Study hard: there are a lot of high tech jobs in the Army that require brains - and you need a HS diploma/GED to get in.
Stay out of trouble: the Army doesn't take societies dropouts anymore.

get into an jrotc (junior reserve officer training corps *this is for h.s.*) program...they have them for navy army marines and air force...it depends on your area...they'll show you how to march the chain of command and different military protocols...some units are really good and others are ok...gl

Run, push ups and sit ups. Then run some more! do not try learning how to shoot different riffles it's easier to be taught how to do something if you don't have your own ideas. On the APFT army physical fitness test you need to score a 90 in all three events to get High PT. It's some where near 75 push ups in two minutes, 84 sit ups in two minutes and two miles in 11 Min's 54 seconds. Good luck and hit the pavement no treadmills.

PHYSICALLY - Lots of exercise; callistenics, running, pushups, sit ups, pull ups; staying in top physical shape will make it easier for you once you hit boot camp.

ACADEMICALLY - Study hard, get high grades; if you are at the top percentile of your HS class, you can even request to be considered for admittance in the USMA (West Point); the education is tuition free, but you have to commit to 8 years in the Army as an officer once you graduate (I think).

Don't listen to the idiots that say "Why you want to fight in Bush's Illegal war for oil, blah blah" nonesense; if you feel that your calling is the military, regardless of what branch youj choose; you are welcomed to test your mettle and see if you have what it takes to be the best.

Ok man the first thing is get your HS diploma, it is kind of hard to get in with a GED. Also be physically active, take JROTC in HS if you want, you will go in as a higher rank.

Get or stay in good physical shape & get good marks on all your subjects in school then either try for West Point, ROTC in college, with an excellent marks from High School and scoreing high on millitary tests you could go to OCS.

You cant Join at 16, it has to be 17 with parents permission and you have to graduate high school before you can leave.

Wait until you grow up a bit, sonny... and then think about this again... say in about 3 years. They don't take CHILDREN.

Run, do situps and pushups. Do 20 mile hikes with 70 lbs of material in the pack. Learn to memorize even when tired and distracted. Learn to make your bed quickly and the army way. Learn to tie knots. If you want to practice shooting, use a .223 (what the M-16 uses) and .308 (what the m-14 uses) with iorn sights.

talk to a recruiter and get going on a Junior ROTC program. see if there is one in your area. one of my best friends has been doing that for a while and he is in great shape and cant wait to finally leave. if youre only 14 though, obviously make sure that this is really what you wanna do. its a HUGE decision and shouldnt be takin lately. but definately try the JROTC.

You already have some good answers here. Stay in good physical shape. Talk to a recruiter. See about joining your local ROTC. Keep your grades up and stay out of trouble.

Tim
For sure. Just avoid excelling at any school work. Rack up a couple misdemeanors. Avoid felonies. Get a girl pregnant. BLAMMO! You'll be just what the Army is looking for. Good luck, Junior!

Join the Military Preparation college, located throughout the United Kingdom. I'm currently serving in the British army, and I'd suggest you look into the college, I think their website is: www.militarypreparationcollege.co.uk I used to be part of them in 2006-07. Highly worth attending, best time of my life there! Recommend this college to anyone who wants a future career within the armed service...
