you have to have a GED, they will not take you unless you have formally completed high school, either by diploma or ged. |

you might have to take the high school equivalency test (GED) first. |

No, I am sorry but I don't think so, you need an education |

Yes, you need a GED or high school diploma to get into the US Army
However:
Army Pays Recruits To Get GED
The U.S. Army is expanding its eligibility criteria to include those individuals who desire to serve but do not yet possess the required education credentials. Through the Education Plus Program enlistment option, the Army will help qualified non-prior service recruits obtain a GED so they can enlist in the active Army or Army Reserve.
To be eligible, individuals must have been withdrawn from high school for at least six months, meet their state’s minimum age requirements for GED testing and achieve a qualifying score on the Armed Forces Qualification test.
Recruiters will direct eligible recruits to approved GED programs in their area. Applicants must pass the GED test in order to complete the enlistment process and report to initial entry training.
The program pays for the cost of basic GED training and the test at an approved location.
Individuals interested in this enlistment option should visit their local recruiter for details.

You have to minimally have a GED.
None of the services accept you if you haven't either a high school education or it's equivalency.
By the way, EVERY kid that drops out thinks they have "important reasons". Don't be a quitter for the rest of your life. Finish something. |

All you need to do is get your GED to be able to get into the army. However, you should really reconsider all your options because the Army is not what it used to be. Unfortunately, it you do join you have a very high chance of being in Iraq immediately after basic training, and they in no way prepare you for what lies in wait for you there. They do "lie" to you, about most everything, make no mistake about this. It is their job to get you to enlist, they will say and do whatever it takes. Please think about this carefully. |

I would suggest you get your GED and join. What are the important reasons for dropping out?
Please don't give up, the world is yours. You are young and you can still make your life whatever you want it to be!
Good Luck! |

Atleast go and take your GED test. Call your local recruitment office and see what the requirements are to join. I know you have to be 18 no matter what.
Goodluck! |

you have to get your GED first. |

You have to at least have your high school diploma or your GED.....and not have any felonies or convictions, be on probation, etc or anything like that... |

I think you need your parents' permission to join the army, when you are less than 18 years of age. The recruiting office probably has some kind of a paper form for your parents to fill out and sign. |

Have you gone to see a recruiter? He or she will tell you -
The basic qualifications for enlistment in the U.S. Army include:
• being from 17 to 34 years old
• be a U.S. citizen or resident alien, (must have the I-551)
• have a high school diploma or equivalent (such as a GED)
• be single with no children or married with 2 or less children
• pass the ASVAB test and
• pass the physical
You should also not be undergoing any civil actions; certain law violations will disqualify you.
So if you're serious about joining, either go back to high school or get a GED. |

Pass the GED and then try to get in....or talk to the recruiter first, they can help you get a GED.
But I must say, you really need to get an education, the army will give you the worst jobs, you'll be cleaning latrines or 'volunteering' for dangerous missions without one.
Modern warfare is very high tech and complex, without an education I am sure you will get your azz shot off....lol, get your azz back in school, you'll be safe there. |

No--you have to have a diploma, or GED. You should of thought of that before you dropped out of school. Now, your chances at a decent job are almost nil. Have fun flippin' burgers, buddy. |

Key is getting a GED, you can talk to the US Army recruiter and I'm sure they will do what they can to get you in the US Army. They might even have the program through them. Good luck. |

Not only will you not be able to get into the army, but you will never be able to land a decent job. Get use to working at McDonalds for the rest of your life.. |

Not without at least a GED .. and even then you don't have a very good chance. They look for diplomas. |

You dropped out for important reasons??? Those reasons BETTER be impiortant. You tossed any hopes you may have had for a decent job in the trash.
Get a GED or you;re going to be dogmeat on the job market, and not just in the Army. |

Either finish high school or get your GED. Without one of those you can not enter the military. Read the source I listed.
By the way, I joined at 17, I'd suggest waiting until you're 18. |

If you will go and talk to a recruiter they can get you set up for GED classes as well as pay for you to take your GED... They get paid for every person that they sign up... So they go above and beyond to make sure you get it.. Pretty much no matter what it takes they will do... Good Luck and thanks for wanting to serve our country!!! |
