i want some pictures of usaf jets so i could study them and determine the difference. im very interested in planes and im going to join the airforce after collage and i just want a pictures of the planes with the name of the plane i couldnt really find what i was looking for online so if anyone has some pictures and stuff itll be greatly appreciated

Get the latest edition of Janes Military Aircraft Recognition Guide. It's on amazon. Or you can just google image search for various planes.
If you do end up joining the aircraft, you'll find that visual recognition training is a big part of a lot of career fields. The proper "air force way" to learn vis recce, as it's called, is WEFT, or Wings Engine Fuselage Tail. Those are the things you want to look at. For example, a Mig-29 and an F-15 look somewhat similar, at a glance. But with the Mig the vertical stabs are canted somewhat outward, on the Eagle they are vertical. Likewise, the engine intakes on the Eagle sit right up against the fuselage, on the Fulcrum they are underneath it. Likewise, an An-12 looks pretty similar to a C-130, but you'll notice than on the An-12, the front of the wings are swept, and the back edge straight, whereas on the C-130, the leading edges are straight, and the back of the wings swept.
Also, when you learn aircraft, both American and foreign, keep in mind the subtle differences between variants. All F-15's look roughly the same, but there is a huge difference in the capability of an F-15C vs an F-15E. |
