You'll do fine.

Here's a couple of things on basic training.

watch part 2 also

Good Luck.

Japanese cat, are you kidding?! the Air force has the lowest death rate of all the forces.

you're not going to die, but just be yourself, you'll make friends and such

fyi, so are they.

You will have to face the same types of people you faced in school except you get to have a common nemesis... the drill instructor.

Once they have pushed you enough to know you are not going to go postal, your life will be one big adventure... don't sweat it.

Remember, everyone you will be with will be as confused as you at first... then you will get a regiment and all will make sense.

Do yourself a favor, when you choose a direction, choose one that is done in the civilian world... helps with the transition later.

The best time of your life!!

u'll be good i leave boot camp 4 da usmc in a week. i've heard that air force basic is pretty tough. its all a mind thing though. u gotta stay focused and have the mind set that failing is not an option. about leaving home, ur gonna b home sick i think everyone is. but what would you be doing if u stayed home? i have a bro in law who just got the air force about a year ago. if u want more info i will ask him to tell about the air force via email

There really isn't anything to worry about. Sure, it's a new lifestyle, but you will get used to it. You will have good times and bad. More importantly, it will help you to grow up.

Joining the Navy at 17 is how I learned about the world.

its just like anything else, homesick , cold feet, just don't get your drill sergeant piss off Don't act like a kid (follow orders don't question)
expect racism, and don't get yourself killed

You have nothing to be afraid of. The worst you have to look forward to is Air Force Basic Training and while it is not the walk in the park all good soldiers make fun of, it is not difficult. Your Drill Instructors will get you through it. You then go on to study whatever job you chose and this is the first time you will be treated much like how you will be treated for the rest of your time in the service. You will have fewer restrictions placed on you and you will be able to relax a little. Do your job and listen to your superiors and you won't have any problems. After that you will arrive at your unit and learn that other than the uniforms it is just like any job. You might deploy to one of the war zones and you might not. If you do, it is becoming safer all the time and you will be in very little danger.

This isn't to sugar coat military service. There are dangers but you make smart decisions and you'll do well. Good luck and welcome to the service!

You need a good advice?. Go to college, get a degree than JOIN THE AIR FORCE. Because, you will land a high paying job in the Air Force and even retire there. However, you go there right now, you will someday leave ending up with NO job, no college education, and no retirement set for you. How many folks do you see in the streets carrying sings reading, "Vets" and they are all homeless today.

I believe that everyone should take care of him/herself before taking care of his/her country, because it is what you know that benefits your country, if you are inexperience, uneducated, chances are your country will not benefit any good.

prie
Bad idea, you just going to be a slave and few weeks later you will find your self in one of these countries like iraq or Afghan then your life is going be totally ruined, may be in the past it was good fun being in between allot of mates having a great time and good work out and parties. Now is totally different unless you don't mind about doing that so Good luck

Expect to fight on the front line and see casualties of war you should be scared.

And you should have given more thought before signing up if you are scared before even doing anything.

Is it a bad idea to earn your degree while in the service
