There is a woman in my husbands plt. that is 4'9" and many of the recruiters will help you I mean you might be in better shape then you think you are and if you aren't then you have something that motivate you... I don't think that it's harder for women to join... like I said just work with the recruiter
Good Luck and I hope you get in! |

I was in the Army, stationed @ Ft. Bliss, TX I did my training in Missouri. All I can say is I loved it and every day since I've been out (6 years) I missed it and debate whether to go back but I have a 1 year old and a 14 yr old that keep me from going. but hey, if you want more info e-mail me at peaceful215@yahoo.com |

i know that most women choose the army because there are more opprotunitys for them. i have many friends in army and a few in the marine corps, and my sister in the navy......but if i were to choose i would choos army, 1, they are easy on ya, 2 there are more opprotunitys |

oh no! join the military! they need more of us in the army! i dont think it matters if your short, but you do have to pass the standards on weight. I dont think its harder for women to join. Its not bad, you get free healthcare, and dentalcare, and if your young you might even get a scholorship! its great, and as you progress and get promoted, the pay gets higher and higher, my dad is a CW5, and boy does he have it made! you should really join the army,
If you join YOU ROCK! |

Don't listen to what some people say. If they hate it, that doesn't mean you are gonna hate it. They are just a bunch of wussies. Military is not for everyone. As you can see from what some people are saying here. I have a friend, she's a female and she loves the Army. If she can do it, any girl can do it. Once you are in training, u will do good.
Air Force does treat people better and they do have better housing facilities(Bases). But they don't gurantee jobs and they are getting rid of people. |

Go talk to a recruiter. It is just as easy for a woman or a man. Its the person who makes the difference. |

I don't think they can afford to have standards at the moment, they're offering huge signing bonuses in fact for people who join. I would find a place where recruiters are standing outside of a mall or university campus and kind of walk up like you're not really interested but just listening to be polite. Let them do their shpeal and don't act at all interested, believe me they'll talk your ear off, then let them get your contact information and leave. When they call you, and they will, let them do their shpeal again but don't sign up for anything just let them talk and in the end tell them you'll think it over for a few days. They'll keep offering you more and more, the third time go as far as coming in to their office if you're still interested. You should get a pretty sweet deal that way.
Now, on the othe hand, you may want to consider what you'll be doing for them. |

You'd have a much better time in the Air Force, or even the Navy. |

Not the army! Join the airforce, much better conditrions. Regardless of which you join, though-wait till AFTER the war.
Army boot camp is tougher that air force boot camp, and if you are not in shape now, you will be after army boot camp. |

I was in the Army for 11 years and it was great. As far as your physical ability they'll take care of that while you're in basic training. As long as you follow rules and can listen to orders you'll do fine. Let me tell you though, if you want to make it a career I would join the Air Force they are a lot better on their enlisted people than any other branch, and when I was stationed with some in England, they got extra money because the barracks we lived in weren't up to the Air Force's high standards. As far as we were concerned, Army, they were great because everyone had their own bathrooms in their rooms - some even had bathtubs, and all the rooms were carpeted another plus I had never seen at any other locations, so go for it. And make sure you ask lots of questions, like if you've already been taking college and have any student loan debt get them to pay it off for you, and see if their are any good incentives like a signing bonus. Good Luck. |

I don't know about the general population of women, but my cousin was raped by her commanding officer and his friends. He was demoted, and she was discharged, the implication being that it was her fault. The armed forces have a long way to go before they achieve equality. |

lady you might want to ask a women who have been there .for me it was hard work and disciplined but great |

I was in the Navy and i loved it up until the time I got married and started a family. It just seemed to be too much all at once. I would visit each branches recruiting offices and talk to the recruiters and decide what branch of service would suit you best. |

If you watch only one conspiracy documentary ever, make it this one. This just might be the best introductory video out there. Understand that every claim made in this is fact, not opinion, no matter how wild it sounds. It's all easily verifiable through mainstream news archives and public documents.

Dying in Iraq is hard whether you are male or female. I served in the Vietnam era and barely missed the real action. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. |

My neice was raped by 2 guys that were stationed with her. They came to her barracks and raped her. she tried to fight it but the guys said that she asked them to come over (which she didn't).
It is still a "Good Ol' Boys Club". Stay out!!! |

Hey we're all living in the 21st century and things are different than they were 100 years ago, that's for sure. Many things have changed for the better.
But what kind of army allows women to join? That just seems ridiculous to me. I'll tell you what kind of army it makes: an army that blows away women and children and bombs hospitals and innocent civilians. An army that starts wars that it can't win and isn't really willing to commit itself to anything other than tv propaganda. An army that causes untold suffering for its enemies but can't beat them because that would mean getting its hands far dirtier than a bunch of women could stomach. An army that allows women to join is both savage and ineffective. I'm not saying it's womens fault, those smarmy girly-men on cnn would crap their pants if they had to spend any time covering an actual real war. If you want to be a real woman involved in a real war doing something effective, positive, and that will earn you some well-deserved respect, become a nurse or a medic and make a serious contribution to the world. |
