We've sent war protestors (along with others) into war before, it's called the Vietnam draft. I mean... I could totally understand why you want people to die when they're main objective is to stop the deaths of several people on both sides of the war. Your home is a little bit bigger than the United States, we are all in this world together no matter what government we were born into or which government we've made a journey to. Man is man, my friend.... and you'll never understand the concept of pacifists until you realize we're all in it together on the globe, and your "home," is bigger than your own backyard.

Because the idea of the military being in Iraq, is that it is in the interests of both the USA and the Iraqis.

It may be in the interests of the USA to stifle debate on the war by exporting the protestors ( this is debatable).

It is hard to see how it would be in the Iraqi's interests to accept them though.

Well you are half right- attacking Iraq should not have been done in the first place. If people needed to be sent, then yes, peaceful folk could have been sent to try to achieve by diplomatic pressure / signs of goodwill what has clearly failed to be achieved by war : a peaceful, freer life for the Iraqis.

And songsoul is wrong about Jane Fonda- she may have been duped by the North Vietnamese, but she did not hand over any slips of paper- see Snopes if you want the full story:

I am tired of hearing the war protesters.
The only reason they have the freedom to protest and be insulting is because of our military and people fighting for our freedom. I figure they should spend some time over there and then talk!

If memory serves, "unarmed human shields" paid there own airfare to Iraq and the government arrested them, sent them back to the US and fined them $4000 apiece and now you expect them to fall for that one again.

If you love this war so much, how come you're surfing the net instead of serving in Iraq.
