Waiting for September

Early enough to start researching, but too early to decide, I wanted to join the Army as a kid, and ended up enlisting in the Marine Corps |

I am 15 too, and i have already made it my decision to enlist after high school.
But before you make such a big decision, search your options. be open to other things.
but theres nothing wrong about thinking on joining the military.
oh, and if your parents permit it, you can join at 17.
so possibly 2 more years for you..
good luck, serve well. |

you can sign up when your 17 in you have parental consent. no age is too young to start thinking about your future. just make sure you enjoy your last few years of high school... you'll never get that back. |

No - not too early.
Talk to recruiters, other army personnel, etc. and get information on all the different areas available and what you want to do in the Army.
There are all kinds of options from Infantry, Combat, Electronics, Armor, etc. Start now and decide what you want to get into. |

O its not too early. Believe me, some people wish they were younger so they could join. Start training your body and your mind. They say its tough. But you know it will be worth it. |

It's never too early to start thinking about your future. My suggestion is to get as much information about it as possible.
I wanted to join the military since I was 9. Do I think it was too early? Nope... I just ended up with a lot more information than a lot of people.
I signed for the Army Thursday. I'm glad I did.
Though the military may not be for everyone, it's best to check out your options. |

maybe, maybe not.
It changes for some people but then some people want to be the same thing their whole life.
Maybe you could look into being in the army cadets or something? See if it seems something youd like to do.
I tried the air cadets when i was abot 14 and i decided it was as far from me as possible. |

Not at all I decided that I wanted to be an Airborne Ranger since I was maybe 11 or so I think its good you know what you want to be so you can start working on it now. |

No, it's not too early to be thinking about it. You are smart to educate yourself on what your options are in the military. Take the time to figure out what you want to do with your life, and how the Army can help you attain that goal.
Also use this time to stay strong on your studies. The image of the dumb infantryman is long gone! The better you do on the ASVAB, the better choice you have on what MOS (Military Occupational Specialty). I was 10 points under being able to chose whatever job I wanted in the Army. I still had a large range of choices.
You will want to use this time to get in excellent physical shape. Push ups, sit ups, running, and all manner of exercises are going to be thrown at you with a screaming, spitting DI right in your face. If you think your sadistic gym coach is a pain in the butt, get ready for the real deal.
Get used to the idea that your life will no longer be your own. That's not really a bad thing either. You will be fighting FOR and WITH a unit that is highly trained and motivated.
the thing to do is to talk to recruiters and any vets that you can talk into telling you their experiences. |

NOOO! The earlier the better!! Look up MOS"s, get in shape, talk to your parents, go to the local recruiting station, they may not be able to sign you up now but you will definitley get your feet in the door. Im 17 and i wish i has known alot sooner about joining. |

That would really depend on how far you plan on going in the army. You have to weigh all your options here. Why are you doing it? What are your advantages in going? What are your disadvantages in going? Once you have decided that it is the best option for you, then it is never too early. Just remember that you might change your mind later on, so don't jump in too deep. But definitely, if you feel that you want to serve in the army, I'd say it's not early at all. Especially since you are allowed to join at 17 (with parents' consent, of course.) |

Make sure you weigh out all your options. The Army is a great way to pay for college and get life experience, make sure you get adequate information before signing a contract, especially about the specific job you want. I think its commendable that you wish to join and I wish you the best of luck!! |
