Mentally, EOD is Harder.
EOD in the Navy is or was considered Special Warfare, not sure about now though. They go through a somewhat difficult combat training, and dive training. but what gets most people to fail in EOD, is the ACTUAL EOD PART. EOD school, is extremely hard, because you cannot take class material home to study, and there's a lot you have to learn. its also a very stressful job.
now Physically, SWCC is harder.
SWCC training is a little bit like Navy Seal bud/s just minus hell week.
you learn small boat operations, you learn how to do quick repairs on the boat and engines, you go through a hard swim portion of training, etc.
It is also somewhat mentally challenging since the training is so intense, but majority of the people fail who fail swcc, fail because of the physical work.

I'd say about the same. It doesn't matter what you are going into, if you are not motivated, you will not make it far in either one.
It is true that the majority of the drop out for Navy EOD (don't confuse Navy EOD with EOD in other branches) happen during EOD Schl, but many recruits dropped out during Dive School as well. They didn't even get through to EOD Schl.
I also had to go through rigorous physical training to be attached to the Army SF. Some EOD Tech had to go through the same thing to be attached to Seal or USMC Recon. |
