Rather out of date. He had a fair trial. He had a fair hanging. He will have had a fair judgment from God. Let it rest |

Yes.
He was convicted in an Iraqi court of law with several attorneys representing him. The conviction carried a death sentence. The sentence was upheld in an Appeal Court. Iraq is a sovereign nation and has every right to its laws.
There is no alternative to stopping a madman. |

Saddam broke the golden rule : Don't lose at war.
He could have had the reputation of Mother Theresa and they would still have found reason to hang him.
He was the head of a sovereign state which basically meant he was the law.
But it was a show trial after all.
He wasn't afraid to die though. |

I think they should have just put him in Abu Ghraib to rot for the rest of his life, with no outside contact except for the people feeding him. No reading material, no TV, no entertainment whatsoever. Death is too fast and easy a punishment for someone like him, who was aging anyways. |

HE WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER CONVICTED BY THE INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE FOR OFFENCES COMMITTED AGAINST HUMANS, BE THEY IRAQIS OR NON IRAQIS BUT NOT BY THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT'S DESIRE ELIMINATE HIM |

Maybe you could ask the hundreds of thousands of people he killed. |

Saddam was a hero in his country.USA came from abroad under the big lies of WMD to destroy Iraq and to kill his beloved leader. It cant be justified! |

No, America want to show their power to the other Asian countries by hanging him.
this was done by keeping the USA elections in mind by Mr.Bush. |

If his wasn't justified, no ones could ever be. He was the worst of the worst. |

Considering the hundreds of thousands of people that he murdered, it was justified. |

Okay, I just want to point out to those discussing how the USA wanted to execute him, and the USA did this and that, well, sorry guys, but you realize the USA didn't try or convict or execute him. Our President wasn't one of the triers of fact involved in his trial, you know this right? And to those people, get off the high horse - people who really think he didn't deserve to die, are few and far between. |

NO! its wasn't justified. Men like him, leaders and true visionaries have to do what they got to do, if we go ahead with punishing such people, most of the prime ministers, presidents and whole armies of nations must be executed, not to mention judges and judiciaries, along with the police for killing criminals (not to say that all that were killed by the republic of Iraq were criminals, but nor are the enemies armies and nor are all punished by judiciary actually criminal!) |

You didn't see the thousands of dead people on the hillside that he gassed, or the mass graves, the multitude of castles built in his honor while his people lived like paupers???
Hanging was too quick an escape for him. Maybe keeping him locked up and letting him see the world progress without him would have been a more suitable punishment. |

It was completely justified. Everytime they arrest some & try to hold them in Iraq, they will bribe the guards & the guards would release them. The expense & security to hold Saddam for the rest of his life was not worth it. He was a mass murderer & a torturer & he did not deserve your concern. |
