i have basic at fort jackson and then ait at fort eustis virginia...is my ait gonna be like basic.....or will it be just like the regular army and i do job training

It depends on your COC. Not even sure if they still do phase 4 or not. It used to be you were kind still on lock down till you got of phase 4. To get off you basically had to answer some general Army questions such as COC and stuff from the smart book
Usually they give you more freedom to roam and leave post. They may still make you sign out though so they can keep accountability of where you are going.
You will still do PT and spend the majority of the day at school. |

Pretty much but without all of the restrictions of Basic. There are some but as you will be a full fledged Soldier by that point you won't be subjected to all the rigmarole of basic. Good luck to you. I really didn't enjoy Basic at Fort Jackson but that was a lot of years age and I hear it has changed now. Again good luck to you. |

Ft. Eustis, VA is the Army's transportation school. Your AIT (Advanced Individual Training, not Advanced Infantry Training as I believe some answers have assumed.) will be mostly classroom and hands on vehicles work. It will still be strict, but more relaxed and less physical than Basic. |

Ft Leonard Wood, Engineer training.
Compared to basic, it was like a trip to the beach. Yes, he had to display the proper military courtesy, clean the barracks, etc but the "mind games" were totally absent. |
