Is being a military historian a real paying job?

I have know idea what i want to do for the rest of my life, but i know i like to learn about military history and etc. This seems like the best job for me.

If you get a degree in that field you could write some great novels (fiction or non-fiction). If there is such a degree you could get well paid in Military Intel.
Just learn the difference between 'know' and 'no'! lol
