Is everything i worked for/slaved for/ battled for/schooled for a waste of time if i find i need a officer...?

supervising my moves in the field, like i am not a liutenant, but basically a private or civilian?

Getting a college education, proved that you can learn from a text book.
Now you have to prove that you can apply that knowledge in the real world under variable conditions that are constantly changing.
Your superiors will guide and mentor you along the way.
Make good decisions, in a timely manner right away and you will have less supervision. Keep making good decisions and soon you will be on your own.
Make poor choices and you will have someone second guess when you take a dump.
It will be that way in the civilian world also, get used to it.
Everyone has something to teach and everyone has something to learn.

Well, it looks like you were absent the day they were teaching protocol, because as long as you are involved with the armed forces, you will abide by this rule. Civilian status has a rating too. If you are above an O-1 or an 0-2, you may be able to ove rule a lieutenant, that is, if you're part of the command chain.

By the way you spelled lieutenant, my guess is that you are not familiar with chain of command or military protocol.

With all due respect sir, LT's especially butter bars are glorified PVT's with a four year college degree. Welcome to the Army.

a liutenant is a private as far as experience and understanding goes. what, do you think that marching around at ROTC or WP or VMI, worrying about how your uniform looked and playing stupid little games makes you an experienced soldier? **** no. hell im sure theres even privates at your unit with more experience and know more of what they're doing than you do...a 4 year degree doesnt make you better than anyone.
if you are prior enlisted, then thats a whole nother story...but going off of your post your some spoiled frat boy who decided to play army. and you shouldnt talk about "what you've worked/slaved/battled for" your joes work/slave/battle...you do paperwork. and it absolutely sounds like you need supervision so you dont forget your place.

Mike
Lieutenants are still learning, and need to be guided... like spelling lieutenant correctly. You won't be worth your salt until you make Captain.

If that is your attitude, then, yes.

What you described is part of the way the military works. The OIC, (Officer In Charge) won't be hanging on your back and watching your every move but will be near enough to make sure you are doing your job in the safest manner to protect you and your team. When you get to where you can pretty much do your job in your sleep, they will back off. There was a period that I didn't see my OIC for eight months. He forgot who I was and that I was under his supervision. Nobody had complained about me or my work and therefore he never saw any paperwork concerning me. We happened to bump into each other at a 7-11 sixty miles from the post.

If you do not like authority then it's simple... DON"T SIGN UP!
I was in for four years and looking back I realize that my problems with authority did not help me. I am lucky that I got out with an honorable discharge!! So save yourself my trouble! Get into the Civil Service if you still want a government job!

Money
That's why I got out.
