Is fort polk allow single married army staying out of base?

Im a army wives. We live apart, He's staying in the fort polk. (E-4)
Is he can choose to stay in housing post or out of post? Or he has to stay in barracks because im away?

If he is there on accompanied orders then it is up to the CO of the command whether or not he can stay in barracks and still get BAH. If Barracks are full he can be required to live out in town and fund both places on the BAH for that zip code. He can also be required to pay each night he stays in barracks.

He will not get housing if you are not there.

Now if you are both military that is different and it will depend on the CO.

Bachelor tours or choice to go alone soldiers usually stay in Barracks on post as you are receiving BAH for your household expenses. If you can swing two separate households on that BAH then he may be able to - but you will not get double BAH.
