Is it me or is everybody sick of the war but Pres. Bush?

I am so sick of this ongoing war, I dont know what to do!! Peoples fathers/mothers, children/grandchildren, brothers/sisters, cousins, uncles/aunts, and friends are being killed everyday in this war we can't solve. Thousands of people have died and I really feel for the loved ones of these soldiers. They need to call the other soldiers home!! How many other people are sick of it? How many people have lost loved ones?

REST IN PEACE SOLDIERS!!!

No, sweetie..... you're not alone. I agree with you 100%.

PEACE

Entry 2:
To the few people who chose to insult
the person who asked this question...
just beause she is tired of this war,
saddened by the deaths caused by it,
and wanted to convey her feelings of
regret to those who have lost loved ones......

After reading some of the answers to this beautiful question, I had to come back to extend my answer.... to make it clear WHY I agree with you...Princess.. with all my heart. I wonder, sometimes, how many people were listening when PRESIDENT BUSH said that IRAQ HAD NOTHING (Got it? Nothing!!!) TO DO WITH THE 9/11 ATTACK ON THE WORLD TRADE CENTER.... Also, that... NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION (NOR THE MEANS TO PRODUCE THEM) HAVE BEEN FOUND IN IRAQ. (Zero! Zip! None!!!) So, in view of these two statements alone (made, I repeat, by THE President of the United States...George W. Bush.. himself), can someone PLEASE explain to me..... how is Iraq (a vastly impoverished third world country with feeble... if not impotent ... military power) a threat to our "way of life" - much less to our "freedom"? And, for all those who want to tell me that I don't support our troops, or that I am unpatriotic.....I have this to say: PLEASE, let's insist on bringing as many of our soldiers home... ALIVE.... as we possibly can. How better can we support them than to save their very lives? How better can we support their families and friends than to bring these precious loved ones home to them? Silently watching as more of them die (or are physically and/or mentally disabled) cannot possibly justify.... nor sanctify.... the loss of life that has already occurred. Without a doubt, EVERY American should honor the brave men and women who have given their lives - and their families should be rendered the utmost respect and sympathy for this ultimate, irreplaceable sacrifice, However, I don't understand how having a higher death toll would represent victory... when no one has been able to explain exactly WHAT there is to win. Iraq did not attack us or declare war against us. So, what would constitute victory? Destroying a country that did nothing to us? How is that, in any way, something that CAN be won? And now, for those who have reminded me (repeatedly) of the fact that many more soldiers were lost in previous wars: What is your point? Is that supposed to make this alright? Or, are you suggesting that there is some arbitrary death "quota" that should be met before we beg our government's officials to spare the rest from harm. Surely, there are not Americans still uninformed and naive enough to believe that all the world's terrorists are in Iraq, or that all Iraqi citizens are terrorists! (Or, is that the real problem?) So, ultimately.... even if every last citizen of Iraq is destroyed, we will NOT have ridden the world of terrorists - not even a small percentage of them. But, sadly, we will have destroyed many thousands of innocent human beings (including little children) in the process. (Is that O.K.?) And, of course, many more American troops would die with them. (Still O.K.?) Think! Is that what you want? Is that what will make the United States stronger? More protected? If you believe yes, then please tell me...... Who will be here to prevent an attack on this great land of ours from the more powerful terrorists? ...in countries other than Iraq?....those that, MOST ASSUREDLY, have those WMDs and wouldn't hesitate to use them.... those that realize our best military are busy fighting and dying in Iraq's civil war. Would you then wish our troops home -strong and ready to defend your beloved country.... your way of life? your freedom?
So, go on and tell me I don't support our troops... that I don't care about this country I was born in, have lived all my life in, and will die in. Tell me I don't appreciate my freedom and that wanting PEACE makes me unpatriotic. Say what you want.... It doesn't matter at all....See, I know you're wrong.

There 's a lot of people who are in favor on continuing this war for a lot of different reasons but none of them have someone close to them in Iraq...

frenchy62
It's not just you, and for that matter, it's not just us. The entire world -- EVERYBODY --- is sick of this war and knows that it's wrong. Everyone except George W. Bush.

jake
You can be certain that just about everyone is fed up with how the republicans are using this war to promote their own agendas! This is why in the Nov 08 election not one republican is going to get reelected this time. It will be the end of the gop once and for all time! They've crossed the line, they've stepped on it, and they've gone past the point of no return! There are limits and they've failed to realize this fact!

citizenvnfla
You commucrats didn't get sick of Vietnam until 53,000 Americans died in that one. Yeah that's right. Your golden boy Kennedy got us into it, Johnson kept us there and made it not winnable (just like you commucrats want to make this one). It took Nixon to get us out and even he couldn't bring them out a winner. And guess who was standing at the airline gates screaming "baby killers" at our soldiers? Yeah that's right too, you commucrats who got them into it, kept them there and couldn't get them out.

violet_dreamscape
it's not just you, and now that we have president bush saying that the war IS like Vietnam we can only hope for another 10 years of death and destruction in a war we can't win...

not me

Just you and some democrates, who want to call the soldiers home and have those who sacrificed their life die for nothing. At least if we finish they died for a purpose. Rest in Peace soldiers, may God be with your family and loved ones.

pOrkrOd..I do have people I care about in Iraq. I also have people I care about that are more than likely about to be deployed to Iraq. Most of my nephews joined after 9/11, they believe in what they do.

It's you. If the terrorist was here, I am sure you would be more than just sick. I have 6 members of my family in that war, Dad and two brothers, also three cousins. They all defend their duties and are proud to serve. I had a nephew who died last year.

itssocial
halowburton loves the war
the democrates love the war or they would have cut the funding
they make big money off every bullet fired
death of humans means nothing to the democrates
WAKE UP

So am I!

We have had body bags coming home every single day since March 21, 2003.

4,022 body bags have been returned to their loved ones and 118 military have committed suicide, 99 in the last year!

The WOUNDED from Iraq had to SUE the US Government to get funding to take care of them! And they still have not been taken care of! That does remind me of Vietnam!!!!

Iraqi's want freedom? Hmmm! Did you ever think to ask them as it sure doesn't appear that they do! They want to kill each other.....and us!

EddieX
Alot of us have lost loved ones and friends. We also need to help those Iraqis that want freedom. All of us that are serving and have served understand that freedom does not come free, there is a price to be paid. It's hard for someone that has never served or been in harms way to understand.

Our Servicemen need to know that we support them, I can tell you that watching anti-war protesters in the news is very disheartening for a Service man and woman.

CANTCU: Yeah, unfortunately death does happen in war, a sad fact. another fact is, we are in it for the long haul, like it or not, we going to leave it with our heads held high, not with our tails between our legs. If the Iraqi people as a whole wanted us out, we would have to pull out, unfortunately the media just puts stuff on the air that sells and ant-war protesters with their lil signs, not the good things that are happening over there. by the way were you there?

It's you.

The problem with Americans today is they don't remember how much sacrifice is and has been necessary to maintain our way of life.

The world is not a bed of flowers where everyone can just get along hold hands and sing in harmony. It's survival of the fittest.

I don't mean to downplay the importance of the current situation, but the casualty rate of this war is NOTHING compared to the sacrifices of previous generations to protect our way of life. That is a tribute to the excellent training and professionalism of our military today, and the all volunteer force. I respect and thank every damn one of them. And I honor those that have lost loved ones in this struggle.

If you don't like it, move to Afghanistan.

I am so tired of you anti-war people who just can't figure out that the world doesn't work that way. It never has, and it never will. Any time we have a chance to attack a small problem, less people will die in the long term. If we wait until it's too late, then we have Hitler and WWII, or worse.
