Is it more painful to be shot or to be stabbed?

I think I can help you with this one, because I reside and work in Amman - Jordan,and I was both SHOT & STABBED !!!

1- I was shot accidentaly when a group of people in Amman were firing bullets in the air as a wedding celebration - which is a common habit in Jordan - one of the bullets hit me in my left arm.

2 - The stabbing was at an earlier stage, when I was doing my B. A degree in London, I wanted to go "walking" to do some shopping, when I was mugged then stabbed.

how fortunate can you be ??

As for which one hurts most, well, believe me each one has a senario of its own, but I think I was hurt more when I was shot.

It all depends - I got shot in the leg and it didn't even slow me down...but I've seen other people - big people - cry like little girls when they took a round. This one perp screamed like he had his nuts cut off. I mean he just screamed like a ***** for hours...(If you knew what this clown did to get himself shot, you wouldn't be offended at my description).

But another time a car jacking rapist that I captured tried to shoot me, and shot himself in the process - and I mean BAD - put a big hole right through himself - I mean the bullet went through him and kept going - and he didn't notice any pain until the crack wore off...and even then he just didn't care, because he'd been shot many times before.

I hope to God I am never stabbed. I don't let anyone get close enough. Knives scare the crap out of me, which is why I always carry three.

Only one real way to find out...go wander into a ghetto neighborhood, say around 2-3 a.m., and report back.

probably to be stabbed. Puncture wounds are pretty painful, i imagine the pain would last longer.

Although the inital pain of being shot is probably worse, since the impact is greater because of velocity.

I would think that stabbing would be more painful only because a bullet could go rith through yet the knife would still be in your flesh.

the severity of the pain depends on many things (force of person stabbing you, whether they use a twisting motion to stab you, the caliber of bullet used, close-range shot or long-distance) speaking from personal experience (i have been both shot and stabbed) i would definitely say shot. then again i shot in the knee (yeah...ouch) and stabbed in the fatty part of my palm.

Being shot is quicker so that probably wouldn't hurt as bad.

i would think stabbed, but i do't know cause i have never had either done to me and i hope it stays like that

I can only imagine being shot is the worst cause with the gun, the bullet can penetrate more vital organs than the knife can.

Good question, I'm not sure anyone can answer it, I have had a friend who was stabbed and didn't feel it though, he thought the guy had just punched him. He felt it a little later on but not first thing. Maybe stabbed is less painful.

i think being stabbed hurts more because the length of the knife touches more nerves and can cause disfigurement
