When you pull the 3 min shower it is just pits nuts and butts. Rinse the grime off ya and soldier on.
You don't do this for long periods but once you get this down then you can start worrying about feet, hair, and your appendages. Baby wipes may become your best friend in the mean time. |

In 19D OSUT, we had 30 second showers. The trick is to lather up before you get in the stall, that way all you have to do is rinse.
It helps if you have no hair on your head. |

I watched a zookeeper wash an elephant, with a hose and a broom, and it took less than 15 minutes. You must be huge. |

Jump in, get wet, wash hair, wash body, rinse off, get out. Add 1 min if you use conditioner.
And I'm a female. Just don't ask me how long it takes me to do my hair! |

I can take full showers in less than 3 minutes.
Don't know about girls though. |

You can bet if you were in the Navy and out to sea and on water hours you would not have your *** in the shower for 15 minutes.
You get in, get wet, suds down, turn the water back on and rinse. You then get your *** out so someone else can use it. |

Yes, I can recall only having to rush to take a shower during basic training when we had lots of training and little time for anything else! You learn to adjust or you'll have the Drill Sergeant in your grill all the time about your time management! It's not that your half*** it, you don't have a choice! It's either a short shower or no shower! |

scarred said it best... When my son was in the Army and told us about 3 minute showers, he said its just "armpits, nuts, and butts". |

15 minutes? I run out of hot water in 10 minutes in my own house. |

here in the deployment, you are supposed to take 3 minute showers as well to conserve water. But that is, according to the instructions: 30 minutes to wet, then take however minutes lathering and shampoo, etc., then 2 1/2 minutes to rinse off. So could be more than 10 minutes if you want but you had the water on for only 3 minutes.
But yes, in the basic, you have to learn how to or you cannot shower. After basic, you can take all the time in the world...! |

Yes it is possible, if not done on a long term basis.
While yes there are times in basic you will have to take the walk through shower, it wont last more than a week.
After basic, showering is at your leisure. |

If you are a healthy individual, you should be able to get your whole body wet enough to lather soap in no more than 30 seconds.
Then if you rub the soap all over your arms, legs, belly, back and under your arms and between your legs. That should take you no more than a minute.
Then to rinse it all off should take you a about half a minute.
Most people then rewash smellier areas, under their arms and rinse of again in the final thirty seconds.
So what is that, thirty seconds getting wet, a minute first wash, then thirty seconds to a minute after that rinsing and rewashing smellier parts. A shower in three minutes :)
If you find yourself standing under the water, not rinsing or soaping up, you are wasting water. (Actually in some navies soaping up while under running water is considered wasting water). |

I've done it before. When I was studying abroad in Italy a few years ago, we didn't know how to work our water heater. If it was off, you didn't really have a choice, it was a freezing cold shower. Albeit, I didn't take a "proper" shower. It was more like, have the soap ready in hand, jump in the shower, scrub then rinse as quickly as possible, then get out. Sure did wake you up. |

Yes it is. However, you will need some sorta soap that's good for your hair and body both. The Old Spice Hair and Body Wash is a good example. Soap up before turning the water on and then scrub and rinse real fast. Some of that foaming soap might help too. You can scrub your face, hands, arms, etc.. using that without water. You still have to rinse though. |

Well I wouldn't like to smell a person who has only showered for 3 minutes. Hardly enough time to wash everywhere that needs to be washed, properly.
A good 4 - 5 mins is perfect, ample amount of time to wash yourself and get out. |
