Translate that into modern day terms it means that China will be the most powerful Nation in the World one day and a force to be reckoned with. So to answer your question yes it may happen one day that America is successfully invaded. It does not bear thinking about and there is no room for complacency.

Okay, to answer your question, YES it is possible to invade America. Mexico or Canada would have to turn against us and all they would have to do is march troops across the border. Simple as that.

However, can America be destroyed that is a whole different question.

the answer is yes if someone like china or Russia wanted to invade they could because they would not care what destruction they left china has billions of peoples and wouldn't think twice about sending in troops after they've flown hundreds of ICBMs(nukes) then use submarines to wipe out enough coast guard to land some troops it could work also if Islamic fundamentalist joint in there would to hell to pay i don't like to bring them up but 9/11 hit the USA with and bang and you might remember what they did to the USS Cole in 2000

Terrorist or other countries which stands against the US can only execute guerilla types of warfare on US soil (ie. hit and run tactics, planting IED, or stealing nuke), but invading? Definitely NO. USA is a very huge country and militarily secured from inside and out, apart from the US military bases stationed in strategic locations worldwide with sophisticated spy and intelligence gathering equipments. It is definitely impossible. Except, when all the nations (including the allies with nuclear weapons and WMD) turned their back against US and join forces, maybe.

The USA is invaded by people from Mexico every day. All the USAs combined forces cannot keep out the invasion of radical extreemists. Wars are no longer about red team verses white team, therefore any country can be invaded, and unless you can see your enemy, you will loose. Its a rather short sighted bigoted view you have. No country is infallible, take yours for example. Say a country with nuclear weapons decided on a scorched earth policy in the USA with high yield thermo nuclear weapons, then.... your desert wouldn't be worth having, but... oops they aren't now 'cos of all the bombs you dropped on them yourself. Don't forget that once a ballistic missile is launched there is very little can be done. Once they have landed invasion would be a piece of p i s s, with so many different factions in USA that hate each other, you'd be to busy fighting amongst yourselves to do anything else. So in short, yes it is possible and remember that if a couple of ragheads can steal aircraft out of your own airports and fly them into your buildings, then your have a long way to go to substantiate any of the statements you have made.

yes i believe so. the military is spread thin going to other countries. I don' t think anyone would succeed for long but it did happen look at 911. no one is safe anymore. If we keep sending troops like we r now they're be no one left here.

you have been invaded before,,, think about it ,,, and all the people already living inside the u.s that are anti west. And i have thought for a sec but didn't need to ,the u.s coast guard might be bigger than the royal navy ,, but the u.s. coast guard does'nt have the arms that a sub, destroyer,frigate,carrier etc..have, they carry nuclear weapons.. duh!!! 1 submarine could take the entire coast guard out . As Voltaire said "God is not on the side of the big battalions, but on the side of those who shoot best."

If Russia secures the 50 miles of Ocean between itself and Alaska at Big Diomede Island they could mount an invasion in a matter of hours with enough planning. They could even take a portion of Alaska and setup SAMS before we had much of a defense mounted. If they had enough air support (doubtful) to take all Alaska it would be possible to work their way through Canada and invade the mainland, likely Minnesota after a very long walk.

The odds of this happening I would guess are INCREDIBLY slim.
But are the best chances of an invasion (even if temporary) off the top of my head.

Mexico was in the anti-American coalition, we would be in trouble. Think of all the millions of troops from all the South American Countries! And especially if Canada was against us too, because we'd have a hell of a time defending that long border, and it would distract us from the southern border.
Honestly, for America to survvive that, the first thing we'd have to do is invade and concer all of Central America down to the Panama Canal. Then we could just defend the tiny border there. Somehow we would have to put Canada on lockdown too.

LOL the original poster does not live in this world. He must be playing a lot of video games where he is an American troop. Every strong country (and its people), at one point or another, has thought of itself as unbeatable. Just like every other nation that was once the strongest, America, someday, WILL lose its power and will be one of those nations that the people of other countries barely know about. If you knew anything about history, you would have known of this. Take the Ottoman Empire. Just a few centuries ago, it used to own the world and had the strongest army in the world. It used to control 3 continents. Once the Ottoman Empire began losing power, it was invaded by several nations; as a result, it collapsed. Today, the Ottoman Empire is known as the Republic of Turkey, and while it still has a very strong army, it's nowhere as powerful as it once was. I can bring in more examples. No country would come and invade the US at the moment but once the US begins losing more and more power by spreading too thin, then other nations would and will invade it...the nations that you see as your allies now would put bullets in all your heads...that's how the world works; no nation is really allies with one another. They are only allies as long as they mutually benefit from each other. The moment another nation offers more benefits to you, you pretty back-stab your former ally. I know it is very difficult for Americans to even fathom this but a few centuries down the road, you will be nothing as far as your global power is concerned.

Here is a little math for you. The chinese military with its army,air force, navy, security forces etc.. is about 7.5 million, so we will give them 8 million roughly. So that means if 4000 people buy 2000 bullets each then they could give one to each chinese. Do you really think that there are only 4000 people in this country that like guns or that keep that many bullets? I have over 2000 myself and i know there are more like me. Of course anything is possible but the world would have some serious trouble taking on just the civilian population. Guns arent just a hobby they were put there by the founding fathers to keep you safe. So come on! i cant afford all these bullets, you should buy some too!

Let's try a little logic. Are you going to invade a country that owes you 1.2 Trillion dollars in debt? The US exports over 300 Billion dollars a years to China. Who would take over that much trade if we were gone? Ask any bookie who is owed money... Paying customers always beat dead ones!!! Once you are conquered, you become a Red Communist Country. Remember, all is for the government, not the people. No capitalism for you. We would all make $3.00 a day and give all we have to the government. No Blu-ray or 3D TVs for you!!! We estimate that 42 million households in the US possessed at least one firearm in 2004. Believe me, its way higher than that. Would you invade a country whose citizens are that well-armed? We have over 40 States with a right to carry law. Who buys a majority of the Middle East's oil? How do you think the rich Arab countries that we have protected for so many years would feel if there big brother gets in a fight? Who will protect them? Who will buy all their oil? Great Britain would be speaking German if it wasn't for us. And don’t forget Israel; Without the US holds that crazy junkyard dog on its tight chain all of the Middle East will be turned to glass!!! China is too dependent on natural resources. They won't put that many things in jeopardy that they need to survive. The USA being invaded?!?!? Sounds crazy to me.... the U.S.A can be invaded bye any sea faring nation with a reasonable army, the U.S.A could suffer some form of callapes be it economical or from MAD with another nuclear power but after that the nation would moste likly be left with little infrastructure and defence force and without access to supplys and power most american civilians will ether kill each other of food and water or simply die of starvation or expotier (this would happen in any first world nation were the infrastructure quickly callapes) and lol with no defences and a increasingly demininshing population any nation with sizable landing forces could invade america without much resistance this is a completly plausable way for a nation to reletivly easerly invade america it may be unlickly but so is the idea that a nation is invinsable but i do not no of a reason to invade such a nation other then for large land access for who knows what lol

I fear the U.S. is more vulnurable than ever now. Our Navy is deployed around the world 24/7 the coast guard could not stop a full scale invasion. Most of our navy vessels are old and outdated, except for our carrier fleet. Most destroyers and frigates date back to the 70's and 80's. Our long range bomber force only numbers 180 aircraft. Because of all the Liberals in this country, our air force and navy is operating equipment that was built in the 70's. Yes, invasion is inevitable, but could they win, not a chance. Our army is one of the best in the world, and would have the Home Field advantage. Look at past examples of failed attacks, Napoleon and Hitler failed to capture Russia, our country could not win in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya. I think we went overboard with Libya, I don't even understand why we are fighting them, my country has become an Oil obsessed nation, and I am actually ashamed of our actions overseas. All its doing is pissing people off and uniting more nations to forever be our enemies.
