Is it possible to join the army and not die?

I've been in the Army for 22 years and haven't died yet and I've been deployed numerous times to boot. Very few people who join the military die in the line of duty.

Are you serious? There are men who have served their country and fought in wars who have come home, lived full lives and died a normal death in their old age.

No. Dying is a requirement to join the army. Everyone dies at least twice in their military career or else they are in violation of their contract.

Don't know about the Army, but I have it documented that I died at least 18.7 times while in the USAF. That is a KNOWN FACT!

I joined the Army, and I didn't die. My brother served in the Vietnam era, and he's 65 now. There's more to the US Army besides the combat troops like infantry, artillery, engineers, armor, and aviation. It takes around 10-12 support troops to support one combat soldier. To get combat troops to the field, you need trucks, food, medics, administration, supply, and many other specialists.

Yes, many people joined the Army and didn't die, they're called VETERANS.

There is no way to avoid death. Some religions offer eternal life, you can subscribe to one of those religions and join the Army and live for ever. Pick the right religion and have virgins waiting for you.

if your considering joining the army but are scared of all the bad media coverage. consider the fact that in the army YOU choose your own job. in fact, you choose this job BEFORE you actually sign your contract. so if you want to minimize the danger you could be in, be a cook, human resources specialist, medic, mechanic, communications, paralegal, construction or one of the 100's of jobs in the army that do not involve combat

That is a stupid question, anybody that joins the Army has a chance of being deployed to a combat zone and being killed in action. Anybody who is trying to join and looking for a guarantee that they won't be killed does not need to be in the Army.

of corse. just because you joined the military doesnt mean your going to see combat... it all depends on your MOS military occupational specialty. you can be a cook for all you know.
