I am interested in joining the Air Force and i know they have been in low demand for people to enlist, is that true? Is it still hard to join?

nah dude...you may have to wait a little bit for BMT but i was accepted on the 23rd of march and my ship date is the 14th of april...just study for the asvab and you will be square....ohh and if you smoke weed stop now...the Air force is huge on drugs and **** like that..i heard a lot of people from my meps got the shaft because they didnt want to quit...good luck brother |

It's more difficult than the other branches but you are trying to get a job working on multi-million dollar pieces of equipment. I always liked that the standards were higher because that meant that the people I worked with were typically a little higher caliber(though some still slip through the cracks) Make sure you study the ASVAB as that's really the only "qualification" you can control. |

It's all about supply and demand. When the unemployment rate goes up, more people want to join the military. More people wanting to join means that the services can be choosier on who they let in. Waivers for drug use, criminal activity and medical conditions will be more difficult to come by. It it gets bad enough they might even raise the minimum ASVAB requirements.
So, since the Air Force has always had more stringent enlistment requirements, the standards are now even higher. |

Harder than before. Make sure u do great on ASVAB and have no tattoos, medical conditions, etc because your chances are gettin a waiver are slim to none bc they have so many people trying to enlist. |

I joined back during 'Nam and pretty much just walked in the door.Of course I had good test scores and no problems or a record. |
