Is it true 3.000 American troops have been killed in Iraq?

Yes but I'm pretty sure MUCH more has been killed emotionally and physically...

And for no damn good reason too... I wish the government would use or at least command them better instead of leaving them out to die for a useless war and leaving them out on the streets when they come back.. Disgusting...

But the guy up there with the big answer scored it big, we'll be paying for all this.. America is in debt more then we could've ever imagined... Sad to see all this money wasted on a stupid war then it going to better troop/veteran care and education...

Yes and more than 20,000 wounded, it is going to be pretty tough when they do come home, seeing as how the Bush administration has cut their benefits......:(

Hell no. They are reporting false numbers as to not anger American citizens any further. Americans, being the lemmings that they are, assume it to be true. That's what started this mess in the first place...lies...

Yes. And while that is certainly horrible, www.iraqbodycount.org estimates 52,297 to 57,871 civilian Iraqi deaths. Civilians--not soldiers, not militants, not insurgents--people like you and me and our families and friends. I grow more and more upset every day at this horrible waste of life. I just can't fathom a person (let alone thousands) who think that this situation is OK. I try to be optimistic, but I don't think that the incoming Democrat-led Congress will bring many changes to the current situation.

I just read a response to another question that said (paraphrased) that Americans are soft and don't have the stomach for a tough fight. That is a ridiculous statement. I'm thankful that Americans are too "soft" to accept such a huge loss of life for NO LEGITIMATE REASON. It helps maintain what little faith in humanity I have left.

No, all that footage of dead and wounded soldiers was shot in Hollywood. Those grieving families are well paid extras. Give over, get a life and learn basic math.

Yes over that acually and the Iraqi death toll is over 600,000 as reported by a new study looking at the number of Iraqi's that died as a result of the war not just as a death toll (includes gun violence and deaths caused over the normal average dead per year) Bush hushes this study and prefers to use his own gathered number of closer to 3,700 instead.

As for Americans our death toll just passed 3000 confirmed deaths and still many missing. Also not including those killed in Afghanistan.

Yeah. It's not going to end any time soon, either.

We still need to duke this out and win this thing, though.

3000?. Honestly, from a personal experiences in a wars like Iraq, I believe the number of casualties are way higher than that number. Often the military uses a maximum number, not APPROXIMATE. So, when you hear everyday that 4 soldiers are killed, it is more likely that 10 are killed. Same for the wounded.

Yes. Sad indeed, my thoughts and prayers extended to all families that have suffered or been affected by such a loss. Although, looking at time involvement and the type of warfare implemented, it's a relatively low to minimal number.
New York City has an average yearly death toll from crime/murder similiar in number to that of this war.

Yes that is true but there are thousands more that have committed suicide,been injured(20,000) and those who have gone awol.

Sadly it is true and although every lost life is a tragedy, and we have lost Far Far less in this war than other iwars we've been involved in. Thank goodness for the brave and intelligent soldiers we have fighting for our country, they've been able to do a tremendous job in Iraq with relatively minimal loss of troops.

It's also true that countless future lives have been saved.

Our troops are not dying in vain, they are securing the future of fellow Americans and those of our allies.

By the way, there are coalition forces that have died as well, they are ours brothers and sisters in this unholy war against the murderers that are so graciously called insurgents.

I for for one thank them and their families for the ultimate sacrifice they have made, you are always on my mind and in my heart.
