These pirates deserve to be stripped of their rights as people. If they want to act like animals, we should treat them as such and eradicate them from the waves and see to it that their country's borders be more of a cage of containment.

Fourteen or sixteen really does not make a lot of difference when you are involved with people committing robbery, kidnapping, and murder on the high seas. He certainly is old enough to hold a gun as well and pull the trigger and might have at one time given the opportunity. The fact that it sounds like he jumped or bailed out at the last second says maybe he is not as bad as the ones that were killed but he is not a nice boy either. Life in third world countries is much harsher and harder and not pleasant and most people in this country would be surprised at how hard it really is in some of those countries.

I would not be the least surprised if it was. This is a very unstable region where there is much poverty and young boys most often times have no choice but to work for these "warlords' just to have a place to sleep and eat. But my sympathy only goes so far because there are adults who put these children in harms way and train them how to use these weapons to kill and pirate these non-hostile vessels. Most of these children would be better off dead than having to be exposed to such brainwashing and terror. I know that sounds bad, but many more of these pirates will be killed in the upcomming months and years.
