Other than as an affront to servicemen, I really do not see it being any more wrong (legally, not morally) than flag burning.
It is a statement of bad taste, but not much more (in my opinion).
Incidentally, I thought it was funny when Prince Harry dressed as a Nazi officer at a costume party. Oh, I know folks were up in arms over that, but it was still funny. |

it is illegal to impersonate a government employee, fed, state, local. |

It's a spit in the eye to all those who served. |

ahhhh. come on man thats not cool. the uniform represents alot to the people who are serving now and who have served before. i already can see that your going to get a lot of criticism here. so yes i do think that what you are doing is wrong |

Now you seem to be marginally intelligent....Why would you come to a military forum and propose such an foul, disgusting and insulting concept. Obviouly you want to create a s**t storm so you can sit back and enjoy the chaos you have created. I encourage others to not give you what you want.....to ignore your ignorant a** |

Don't talk to a real VET because once he finds you are a phony, you will get your teeth knocked out. And that is the least you will have to worry about. I am a VET and I take those kinds of things very seriously. Chicks will figure out you are a loser, too. |

If true, which I doubt, you are in contravention of the Stolen Valor Act, and the F.B.I. pay particular attention to your type of low-life activities.
The only "attention" you get is from your hand!!
You should update your user name to:
"6'3 and 135lbs and not one iota of intelligence" |

It is rude & an afront to anyone who did serve. You would be considered a cad. If I was interested in you & found out you hadn't served, I would say goodby, instantly. |

well whatever attention you get from the ladies will be rapidly reversed when they find out you are a poser. who the hell do you think you are? the uniform was not created for attention seeking creeps like you. i hope that this tactic of yours backfires one day and you get your *** kicked by a real soldier who knows what it was really like to wear that uniform, and what it really means. |

My friends died wearing the uniform,as many others in the past.
Take off that uniform and go earn your own self-respect some other way.
Or if you really want to wear the uniform...go sign your name on the dotted line and join up...I'll see you in the desert in January. |

In high school I had a girlfriend who had an older brother who would wear a fake Army private's uniform. When this guy would break up with a girl,he'd wear the uniform and meet her in a public place to break up.
This happened whem Khadafi of Libya was thinking of attacking the U.S. Meditterranean Fleet.
The Military Police showed up at the restaurant and ordered all military personnel to report to their commands. He ended up getting caught for impersonating a serviceman. And since the U.S. was at war this guy was looking at a charge of espionage. We're in a state of war now. If you get caught, you'll be charged as a spy.Care to guess what happens to spies during war time? |

yes, its against the law to wear a uniform with rank/grade and medals..
you should be ashamed. if you want to wear the uniform? why dont u enlist, and then you can wear it proudly and HONESTLY |

That's a huge mistake. You will eventually get caught by a veteran or someone serving. You do not want to go there. Plus it is extremely offensive to the men and women who have served and who are serving. If you want attention that is not the way to do it. Try something else. |

You have to be joking I hope. If not then hey we are having a cook out at my unit for the local DAV(Disabled American Veterans) Post. Why don't you come by. I'd love to watch their response to this question. Wow they really would beat the tar out of you. You know back in the day this would never of been asked and the thought of it would be ridiculed. What happened to society. |

It's a violation of Federal law now. Specifically the "Stolen Valor Act". You face a fine and imprisonment. You also might rack up quite a hospital bill if a real veteran discovers that you think your costume is "cool" and you never served. |

if true then it is wrong and illegal. unless you've earned it then why take take that away from those who have it's also disrespectful. |
