Not YET! US is really going down while China is clearly moving up. It's no doubt that China is a strong challenger that probably eventually win the title in the near future. You shouldn't talk about Tibet though. That's like America talking about education, cars, and electronics. Talk about the strengths instead.

Obviously the USA couldn't allow itself to get a beating in the school yard, so WW3, will be on your terms, but they will always go crying to 'mom', but there will be no 'mom' to go crying to.......so they'll just throw all of their nuclear warheads out of their pram, and only the Tibetans will survive there. The rest of the world will fry, and be thrown into a 40 year nuclear winter, thus killing 90% of the worlds population.

You are forgetting what emergency measures countries will do to protect themselves, for example the british will conscript and train millions of soldiers to extremely high military standards in a very short time if there was a war, and they have nuclear submarines, fighter planes and many military things, so even for a small country it is one of the most powerful and deadly in the world, so i dont think you could really decide who was best until u find out the hard way...in a war...little countries really are quite good

Economically, no, the USA's GDP is still largedr than China's. In 10 years however, China will be a much greater superpower than the USA, but if the European Union become one country it is most likely to be much stronger than China, the EU becoming a country might work but the UK and the scandanavians won't be part of it.

There were something like 800 separatists, mostly monks and herders, against 800 000 chinese soldiers. That was hardly a fair fight. Although China has less GDP than other developed nations it does control a lot of manufacturing which countries like the US and UK do not have. Not strongest military, but powerful economically.

The Chinese military is SO overrated, it's just numbers, that's it. The training is rubbish and the technology is pathetic.

And China doesn't actually have more man power for it's armed forces then the US if you count reservists on both sides.

Economically, it's still a communist country, so you are still considered 2nd World until that is given up. Though for a communist country your GDP is rather high, but no one is profiting from it. Military wise, your doctrine is still former soviet doctrine. Very large military, but tactically and technically not as strong.

i think if you are asking me i will rate it as 3rd cos US is still right now the strongest in the case of weaponary and spec ops (special operations). And since the Chinese military is catching up with US military, it is a great threat to a certain extend, to Taiwan and US physical warfare and cyberwarfare and diplomacy. Unless the Chinese government has prove us that they are in the so-call help out to the defending side and maintain that way, if not the threat is still on.
