Well first thing you should know is not all Taliban are "bad". There are different regions that are under Taliban influence and actually help and inform the US military. They are usually paid though...
The real threat in Afghanistan is Al-Qaeda and their links to the Taliban. |

Yes. Guerrilla tactics is their strategy as with any rebel group. Afghanistan is very rural and has a very large amount of mountains. They have many place to hide at or to assimilate in the small tribes there for cover. Iraq now has a very monitored system of police, road checks, military presence, and the people in Iraq are becoming more comfortable economically(less anger).
