The United States of America does not have a draft for the military. The people that are calling you are recruiters trying to get you to join the military.
I personally think that every young adult male should join the armed forces and protect the way of life you currently enjoy. Along with good disipline, you will also be eligible for college through paid government grants. |

There's no draft right now. Plus you aren't 18. It could be that a recruiter was calling and perhaps your mom didn't get the right name or rank (i.e. the General part).
If you have taken your ASVAB test maybe that has something to do with it as well and they want to talk to you about joining, perhaps you will be turning 17 soon and then they would want you to sign up with parental consent.
Don't worry about. And if you ever think about joining the military, go Navy. :D |

You have been a victim of a hoax. You are required to sign up for the selective service, but the military is proud to have an all volunteer force. You may be recruited by eager recruiters who will show you all the good things the military has to offer, but you make your own decision as to if the lifestyle is right for you. No one will force you, you can to choose on your own.
Maybe your mom is trying to tell you something.....I recommend being a lot nicer to her!
