no. saddam was a check against iran and without him there Iran begun its work to produce nuclear weapons. Also Iraq is a mess right now. However, as an American myself i do not think we should withdraw until Iraq has a strong enough army to defend itself. We should be investing the Iraqi military not buildings an other stuff because without a stron iraqi army, those buildings will just be blown up anyways. |

Not when it was based on false information and altered documents, bad information.
We should have found out first off, why the towers were attacked, then who did it, then used the power of our country to make the attackers pay.
Iraq is nothing to our government but an oil field. They want to get a democratic government in there, and with a group they can deal with so that they can buy the oil as cheap as they can.
It doesn't matter to our government that our people are dying, and that Iraq's people are dying, and that our presents there could very well be making the situation much worse. Once we pull out, Al Quida is going to move in and take over anyway. For us to claim that we going to wipe out terrorism is nothing more than making ourselves a joke. The middle east is not going to be at peace until they decide for themselves that nothing is worth killing each other over. The money they can get from a barrel of oil is more important to them than their own country and the people in it. |

No No No,
they damn well know they did wrong you just have to look at arrogance on Paul Wolfowitz face to know how wrong these clowns were he was caught with his hands in the till instead of apologising to the people he arrogantly try to avoid resigning from world bank. Can you cast your mind back was he not one of the architects of the war. I am hoping and praying somebody in this wor;d will have balls and call for prosecution of all those involved in making the decision to go to war against a sovereign nation so future generations do not have to face this sort of human catastrophes which are motivated by greed. And arrogance that we are something special. It may be worth mentioning may be Bush&cronies thought the world would not go against them now because there was no USSR any more. But to their credit there was pope John Paul Nelson Mandella French Nation and German nation and Chinese nation which stood firmly against invasion which probably stopped the US government from nuking the Middle East. Now that things are not going sweet?????????? |

i think the British Army should be behind the Americans in Iraq.
its the safest place.
by the way.there is absolutely no connection between Iraq and 9/11.
the Americans couldn't attack the country's who's citizens were responsible because they were , and still are , their Allies. |

no . more lives have been lost in this war than we lost in 9/11 how is that helping the people heal by killing more people. those young men did not sign up for the military to die and that should not be apart of their job description. die for your county should be the slogan for military recruiting. and if there has been no change since the start of the war then how long will it take. when no one signs up anymore and we are drafted to die. why is this world so high tech and we still have to kill people to solve problems. if everyone wasn't so money hungary we could find a way to stop the terroriost. they try to make a stupid point and take lives how about making the entry into this country more secure and stop trying to run the world |

Well it depends on your personal outlook. I live in a blue state and realize that the media and politicians like to put their own spin on the situation. Right now the only people who truly understand what is going on in Iraq is the people over there. Ask a soldier who is stationed there or has come back from there recently. Only they would know for sure about the current status of Iraq. Bodycounts don't help because in war people die. If Congress was afraid of the bodycount they should never have voted to go to war. Everybody has their own belief on why we went to war in Iraq. Bush did a horrible job of explaining this war to the people. He doesn't realize that today must people don't have any clue what war costs. Most people, especially those in Congress, don't serve in the armed forces anymore or have relatives actively serving. The whole idea of serving something greater than yourself is foreign to many Americans today. Most Americans seemed to think we'd be in and out, no worries, it'll be a surprise if someone needs a band-aid much less a bodybag. What kills me is all these people who complain about the war do nothing that, in my opinion, gives them the right to complain about its outcome. Most of the people I hear complaining don't even serve in the armed forces, or have family members who do. They don't donate or volunteer at the USO or do much of anything to actively support the troops. So why do they even care? All the soldiers I talk to seem to think we are making progress over there. For those of us who were actually effected by 9-11, we know why we are in Iraq. Iraq was the best chance we had to give the radical Islamic terrorists a chance to fight our best warriors in their backyard, rather then go after civilians in ours. Sadam was a horrible person disliked by everyone in the international community. He butchered his people and family members. He praised those who attacked us and hurled threats at us at every oppurtunity. Unfortunately this reasoning wasn't deemed politically correct enough, so we used rumours of Iraqi ties to Al Qaeda and the possibilities WMDS to sell the war and in our anger damaged valuable foreign relationships. That was a mistake but Iraq in general was not. I remember September 11, 2001 like it was yesterday. I will never forget. Whatever it takes. Freedom isn't free.
The men and women serving in the US Armed Forces are my heroes. Come home safe. We are behind you. |

interesting...oddly enough i think the reason we were givin was a bunch of bull...but i think we should have invaded a long time before we did...weapons of mass destruction is not a reason to invade a country...if it were we should already be in north korea...
that being said...to force a country to comply with the rules he agreed to when he lost a war is reason enough...if we let one get away with the the rest will try to...and that is unacceptable...
then you can look at the terrorist thing aswell...i don;t knwo if iraq had anything to do with it or not but that;s pretty mush where we threw the lightning rod...they go there to fight our troops rather than coming here to kill me in a city bus or shopping mall...and we don;t have to go to syria to get them we just let them come across the border...
did they have those weapons...yeah they did...he proved that when he used them a few years ago...
now keep the politicians out of the fight and let the professionals handle it...
i have no doubt oil had a place inthe planning aswell... |

....and without oil and other natural resources (Caspian Sea gas), the US of A would not be able to remain as the only single super-power in the world today. Although the invasion was very wrong, deceitful and hypocritical, the question is, would you prefer to be dictating or to be dictated to?? |

No we didn't, all because of our retarded redneck president.
The war in Iraq was based on bad intelligence and lies.
BTW-Check out Bush's 18%(now probably lower)approval ratings. |

I think so, i think the only mistake is that the right amount of troops should have been sent the first time instead af many years later our men and women are still doing this 2nd 3rd and 4th times around. My husband is in the military and im scared every day he will go to iraq. But you have to think about what could have happend if we never went over there. |

DID the US do the right thing?
No, they did not. How many people died duing 9/11? How many people have been killed in Afghanistan and Iraq? Bush and friends are the bigger criminals here. |

no. instead of trying to cure the world we should be worrying more about things that are happening on our lands.in England and USA.
what people seem to forget is we all sold Iraq the weapons we are now trying to stop.
its not the soldiers fault that they are out there but our stupid governments who see pound notes/dollars before anything else. |
