Find answers to your legal question.

Is the american military scared and intimidated by North Korea?

DPRK could own Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan in a war big time.
Their military is huge and they have a gigantic supply of weapons. Also have enough plutonium for 5 nuclear warheads - 3x more than you used during WW2.

So... are the american military petrified of North Korea?

North Korea has a lot of equipment, too bad they don`t have the gas and food to fuel it. They couldn't`t sustain an attack for longer longer then a few days and more then likely China would squash them for causing economic trouble for them if they did.

No we are not intimidated by them. Reality is that North Korea is contained and not really a threat to anyone. North Korea knows this and uses the nuclear angle to seem dangerous so people give them stuff. They know if they used one, they would be destroyed.

lol at 5 nuclear warheads.

We have triple + that on one nuclear submarine.

We should be concerned about any action towards South Korea. They have such a huge army and these are more scared of their own leaders than an enemy. Korea is a small place and the devastation on South Korea would be great before things stabilized. We've barely got a division there.

Any other country, give me a break. The have no transport infrastructure to head to other countries.

They couldn't afford to get their Army to any of those places.

Ok Putin. If you say so.

Five nuclear warheads is what one American missile carries.

North Korean nukes are around 20kt (size of Nagasaki blast). Each nuclear warhead in an American missile is 400kt, about twenty times more powerful, and there's around 5-10 in each.

Their military is huge, but they don't even have enough oil to perform training exercises with their APCs,Tanks and aircraft. They have a huge manpower, but they can barely feed all of them, let alone let each one have a weapon that functions.

What has DPRK gained with their military expenditure? They can't feed their population, their economy is in turmoil,South Korea has all the same resources as DPRK and yet...look at the difference.

The U.S. fields the world's best military. They respect and take seriously the capabilities of any foe they face. Iran and Afghanistan would swallow North Korea's military. A military may be defeated in any number of ways. North Korea hasn't the resources to maintain themselves. Like the Soviets, the exterior may look tough, but the interior is rotting away.

tlkr_11
North Korea has a lot of people, but their soldiers are nowhere near as well trained as the American soldiers and marines.

The USAF and USN would crush their North Korean counterparts, and if there was a ground invasion, the DPRK could not hold off the Army and Marines for very long.

Civilians are in charge of authorizing military force against an enemy. If the military is given a mission by the President, via Congressional Approval, I am sure North Korea would not last too long. Just fact, emotions have nothing to do with it.

Are you a troll? How would they get off the peninsula? The US Coast Guard can whip their piddly navy. If they tried anything that would upset their red-headed step father China's economic dreams, they would get *****-slapped by China. It happens every time they do.

No. The U.S. forces are in Korea in connection with the UN Peace Enforcement Mission authorized by the UN Security Council under the terms set forth in Chapter Seven of the UN Charter and in the spirit of the UN Support Act of 1947. Although there is only a ceasefire on the Korean Peninsula, that UN force did manage to restore the status quo ante-bellum by driving North Korean forces out of South Korea.
If North Korea decides to reactivate its aggression against South Korea as it did in June of 1950, they will be dealt with accordingly. Until then the little fellow with the Brillo pad hairdo can engage in all the saber rattling he wants. His countrymen continue to starve. More and more are trying to defect via the Tumin River Delta Economic Zone. His military has less than 30 days supply of petroleum, oil and lubricants. In short, Kim Jong Il is just a "mighty wind".

You're kidding with this right?. The reason there are so many in their military is because they're the only ones they can afford to feed, the rest of the country is keeling over from starvation, there are people dropping dead in the streets. One of the few thing Rumsfeld got right was about North Korea, you look at a satellite photo of the Korean peninsula at night, the south if full of lights and activity and life, then you look above the 38th parallel and it's like looking at a preindustrial society; scared?, I don't think so.

Pfft 5 that's it?We have what a few thousand...sorry lost count can't give you the exact number. The minute NK uses even one you'll see possible retaliation by other countries popping up on the news.

N Korea can't even feed their own people and they accept aid from S Korea, why would anyone really be afraid of N. Korea? They are merely in a posturing stance, trying to remain relevant but when it boils down to the endgame, they will accept more aid and stand down.

No. North Korea would be a push over as long as China stayed out of the fray.

China is the real issue. They cannot let the one of last communist regimes in the world fail.
