You have to graduate high school to be enlisted and a college degree to be an officer..
All branches of the military are a good choice..You need to research each one and see which one best suits your interest and goals. |

Marines sound good. You need a High School diploma or GED to join any branch of military. Some college helps get rank in the military faster. |

As long as it is in your heart to serve the country. |

You need to have your GED.
Good idea, if you qualify and you know what you're signing up for.
I have a friend who joined right out of HS. He wasn't in the best shape but he worked on it. He really matured too...grew up a lot in a short amount of time. He loves his job.
edit - if I were you I'd find a forum or chat room where you can talk with people who are in the marines. They'll give you their honest opinions, I'm sure. |

Yes you must graduate high school to join the Marines or any branch of the military at that.
My advice to you is 2 look into each branch (navy, air force, army and marines) and decide which one is best for you.
They all are respectable careers but are different in many ways. The military is not always the best choice for certain people, you have to love what you do!
also DO NOT believe everything your recruiter tells you.. if they promise you something GET IT IN WRITING! |

Marines is a great choice! Their training is top of the line! You must have a GED and if you have one under 18, have parent consent. Thank you for serving our country, or ven thinking about it. It's more than most do. :) |

The Marine Corps does require a high school diploma. I am married to a Marine and it takes a lot of dedication, phsyical ability, strength, and committment. You do not have to have college credits, but it is looked highly apon. The Marine Corps will also help you with getting a college degree. Being a Marine is hard work, is that something you would really be interested in? |

The marines are well respected because they are usually the first in, last out. However, they have a lot of casualties and have a very very tough life. You need to figure out what you want out of a military career. Do you want to go blow things up and shoot guns, or do you want an education you can take with you after you get out?
Anyway, I believe you have to have graduated high school or get a GED to join. They really aren't that picky because they need as many marines as they can get. |

Join the Marines, man. I'm a 100% supporter of them, just look at my yahoo answers name. If you want to enlist early, I will suggest you sign up right after graduating high school, but if you want to be an officer like I want to, join Navy ROTC in college or sign up for Officer's training after college. Good Luck! |

The Marines is a great thing to be a part of, and you should have your highschool diploma. |

You just need a GED as a minimum. You need to check sources other than a recruiter. Get every promise in writing and read the contract very thoroughly. Get literature from both military friendly and anti-war organizations. Keep one thing in mind. The military can be a very rewarding place or can royally **** up your life. Oh, recruiters always lie. |

How about; dont join any of the armed forces?
Do you know what you'll be fighting for?
No.
Not even Bush knows, and he was the one who sent troops to war. |

Yes high school, no college. College only of you want to be an officer.
As for if it's a good choice... We're at war in two nations, keep hinting at going into a third, and the military is always complaining about a lack of troops because as soon as those who are there can get out they get the hell out.
Go into the military if you have no alternative. Unless you have some driving patriotic need to "serve your country", regardless of the fact the country doesn't want you to in this case (70+% can't be wrong). Though if you had such a feeling I doubt you'd be asking.
Note: Marines are NOT the most respected of the armed services. Jar-Heads anyone? Neither are they the first in or out. Army Rangers tend to be the first in or out of a conflict, that being their job. However the actual first in and out of any conflict are special forces units such as SEALs, Spec. Ops., and Force Recon as well as Delta. |

If you are planning on joining the USMC and you're not planning on finishing HS, you'll probably be a grunt. So if you don't mind the very good chance of being shot at go for it. |

The Armed Forces will take people who have not graduated from high schhol, but it's better if you have. you do not have to have had any college to join. Most times you can get a GED, for a high school equivalent, while in the service. |
|

If i knew would i bother to ask?
 |
NO!!!!!!!!!! I don't recommend it at all.
you'll dye if sent to war or come back without a leg or arm or worse don't do it!
go to college instead its safer and better for u.
