Is the military a good fit for me?

I am 19 years old, i have a 5 month old daughter me and my girlfriend(baby's mom) are both jobless and living at home with our parents, my girlfriends parents pay for almost everything for my kid. i have been looking for a job for almost 6 months and still haven't found anything, i want to go back to college but since my daughter is under my in-laws guardianship i get basically no help from financial aid and my parents don't want to help either, i have thought about joining the military ( air force ) many many times before but just didn't go all the way with it, with my situation as of right now, would the air force or any other branch be a good solution for me right now? i just think of it as a way to get me started in life while in the mean time i get to serve my country. thanks in advance.

Yes and No.
At first you wont be around your daughter while you are in training, but If you want to bring security to your family then yes. Free medical benefits, a great job with great pay, Once you decide to get out you will have a great civilian job. Its also a great way to serve your country, and the air force doesn't always send you overseas, depending on your job.

The answer above, I have no idea what you said. Even though Obama is a coward, this isn't helping the guy.
If your heart is telling you to join up, then do it. Just make sure your thinking about your daughter to. Once you complete basic while you take her with you? Try to find ways to take care of her if you do. The military is a good choice no matter what the current state of political affairs is...
But anyways, it looks like your hearts telling you to serve your country and better yourself, so the decision is ultimately yours. |
