Basic Training is the same for every soldier no matter what the MOS is. Basic Training is 9 weeks long, not 10 or 11.
Even OSUT is the same the first 9 weeks. You must learn to be a soldier first before you can learn your MOS. There are things that require attention and must be learned before you learn anything about your MOS. The only difference between a regular Basic Course and OSUT is that OSUT offers everything at one base, that means basic and AIT. You don't move on to another post. OSUT is referred to as One Site Unit Training, is a term used by the United States Army to refer to a training program in which recruits remain with the same unit for both Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Immediately following Basic Training, the unit seamlessly transforms from a BCT unit into an AIT unit. There is no relocation and the same Drill Sergeants who conducted the Basic Training continue to instruct all of the participating recruits in their Advanced Individual Training.
If you have just Basic, than after Basic Graduation you move to another post for your AIT. |

Actually yes it is, while every mos will learn the same basic things in bct, if you go to whats known as OSUT, you will start learning your job at the same time you are learning everything else, thats why if you look at say my job Cav Scout, we dont have bct/ait we have 17 weeks of OSUT. Same with the infantry only they have 16 weeks of OSUT. |

No its all the same, its 10 weeks long now, used to be 9. actually it will be 11 weeks because there is a week of reception before basic. AIT will depend on job and will vary from 7-52 weeks depending on job. Infantry 4 weeks, Medic 17 weeks MP 12 weeks. |
