Is there a part of the military where you can live in what state that you want but be a full time soldier?

I mean kind of like the army national guard in that you will stay in your state but you will be like a full time infantry soldier. I know its just a movie but in the movie Stop-Loss, once they got back from deployment there were shipped right back to iraq. I am wondering if there is an actual part of the army that is like that or what. Or if in the army guard you can actually be shipped right back out like that. Any help is much appreciated

You can be active guard or reserve and serve in your state in National Guard. However you have to have experience.

But for real there is a National Guard Program called AGR Active Guard Reserve you are full time NationalGuard on full active duty getting at the good pay, and housing costs.. And no you can not get this, you have to be in the military for a while at least 3 or 4 years before you could even apply to do this

Well, in the National Guard and Reserve they have full time slots called "Active Guard/Reserve". I know people in my unit put in an application packet to get assigned to one of the companies in our battalion as AGR. But sometimes you don't really get to live where you want, it depends where there are slots. Sometimes right at the unit you're at there would be open slot, but it just all depends.
