FACTS: Saddam Hussein's regime was an ally in the 80's as well, and it was because the US had so much interests in the region. Today, Pakistan is an ally only because of the US's interest to root out Al Qaeda and other Islamic extremists. So, if the Taliban or others take over Pakistan tomorrow morning and the US does not interfere don't be surprised. It is because the US sustained its goal which was to get rid of the Taliban out of Afghanistan for now regardless of where else they flee and settle.

In Somalia a very peaceful in the 80's, and politically stable and protected so the Soviets don't build bases in there. The cold war ended?. The US simply considered Somalia a "Failed state", never trying to establish a gratitude to help Somalia after.

In Panama, very similar story. Read about "Noriega". How did an American ally became America's most wanted fugitive.

Osama Bin Laden once was briefed and assisted by the CIA. In fact, he was provided intell and logistics. Now that the Soviets are gone, he is the enemy of the state. I wonder if it all that you have to die after your work is completed so you don't teach others what you know about the US military intell and foriegn policies.

My Point: The US is ONLY your friend when you are needed in that region, when not?. You could possibly be the next Saddam Hussein.

I myself am worried that the Taliban will soon overrun the poorly managed country. If that happens, they are free to go hunt down Pakistan's 100 or so nukes and use'em for whatever they want.

It should also be noted that many of the soldiers in Pakistan's military have defected to the Taliban....

If the US did enter Pakistan, I assume they would not have hostile intentions against the Pakistanis, but rather have a sole objective of securing the nuclear weapons and technology.

I think most people would agree that having US forces in Pakistan is much better than a nuclear armed Taliban.

A better approach is to provide more support for the government of Pakistan so that the government of Pakistan can fight the Taliban themselves.

Fortunately there is a large portion of the population in Pakistan that is Vehemently opposed to the Taliban.

Unfortunately the Taliban receives an enormous amount of weaponry and funding from other Muslim Terrorist Nations in The Middle East.

In particular Iran is pouring an enormous amount of money and weaponry into the Taliban and the Pakistani Government is essentially outgunned by a very well financed and well armed Taliban.

With sufficient funding, training and weaponry the Government of Pakistan can repel the Taliban themselves.

It would be better for all concerned to provide the government of Pakistan with sufficient funding. training and weaponry to repel the Taliban themselves rather than have us do it for them.

At the heart of it, the Taliban are an ethnic militia, nothing more. The Pashtuns will never take over Pakistan. The Punjabis by themselves are 60% of Pakistan's population and they are firmly entrenched as the political and economic elite of the country. The Taliban may be able to slice off a portion of the mountainous regions that border Afghanistan, they will also be able to cause sensational attacks in Peshawar and Islamabad. But they will not overthrow the government.

Also, the Iranians may throw some weapons to the Afghan Taliban but it's more an insurance policy against US military intervention in Iran. It is not aid to the Pakistani Taliban with intent to subvert the current Pakistani government.

There are many possibilities,and combinations of things happening in that region. Can a atomic bomb go off? Sure. It's happened before, it can happen again. Will it come from Middle East? Could. Will it come from North Korea? As nations become more fearful, or Nations that create fear, there's only one solution. One World Government. One set of laws that applies to all. That's coming, and has been in the making for some time now by your globalist. The Think Tanks have had it all planned out for a long time. You create situations, or allow things to happen to bring about needs to control the masses through fear. How about that flu strain, huh? Massive quarantine. If one scenario doesn't work you create another one. Sound paranoid? Only to the skeptics.

No. If you did, Pakistan would treat it as a foreign invasion. Unlikes Iraq or Afghanistan, Pakistan actually has an army, with US Pakistani and Chinese planes that are ACTUALLY able to shoot down an f-16 1 vs 1. Not to mention the fact that US can't afford to send more troops to another country. Obama's popularity rating would plummt to like 10%. Pakistan has NUKES and would probably nuke American ships. If the US does it Europe would be likely to leave NATO. China and Russia would protest and the UN would have to turn against the US. So the chance is 0.00001%. It won't happen. If it does you can say good bye to life as we know it. Also if Obama does attack pakistan. The US might have a revolution, the secret service would ditch him and someone would assasinate him.
