Is there any way they would let me get my GED once i join the air force?

You have to have a HIGH SCHOOL diploma to join the AF. Some members have a GED when they join (they have to get a waiver) but they also must have college credit. The Army might take you but I think they also require a GED.

Army and navy may waiver you in IF you already possess a G.E.D., Marine Corps may also choose to waiver you in with a G.E.D. but they are usually reluctant. That decision will be up to the recruiting commanding officer. As for the Air Force, the answer is no. The Air Force is small enough with plenty of well qualified volunteers. With this in mind, they can afford to be more selective than the other branches.

The Marine recruiter told me that the only way they'll accept someone with their GED is if they have some college schooling, probably at least 2 years.

the Army offers the GED plus program... you pass the GED pretest, enlist, then the Army pays for your GED BEFORE you ship out for training.

No, you will need to get your GED before you can sign up. ask your recruiter they will hook you up.

ok i had a friend who had to get one prior to finishing his enlistment paperwork. he was given a date to get it by and did you have to have one in order to enlist go and speak with a recruiter

Talk to your recruiter. He can help direct you and tell you all the steps so that you can get your GED and join the Air Force.

sorry but I don't think so,, you are supposed to already have your G.E.D. to even try to get into any of the military branches.. Talk to your local recruiter(s) about joining the military.

Not sure of AIr Force. In Navy can do it. To get into Air Force, have to score pretty high on the military test. Could call a local recruiter, or call a general phone line in phone book for Air Force. Or look online, send a query email.
