im about to join the airforce and im trying to figure out what i want to have as my career. people always ask me what i would want to do in my life if i was just going to college outside of the service. i want to be a veterinarian. is this even available to me when i first join, or available at all in the Air Force as a career?

Not in the Air Force. The Army takes care of all of the Department of Defense animals. If you are enlisting, you'll be looking at being an Animal Care Specialist (68T), it's like a vet tech. After you have completed Vet school you could join the Army as a Veterinarian Officer.

no. the ARMY only as Veterinarians and enlisted Vet techs. Veterinarians must have the DVM in hand before they seek a commission.
Army Vets and Vet techs however serve on all military installations that have working dogs. they also serve as Food inspectors. |

No it is not an option.
Veterinarian's need 4 year college degrees, then they go to veterinariary school for 3 years. |

on the air base in charleston, sc there is a vet office. if it is ran by anyone in the air force i dunno because there are a lot of civilians that work on base. |

Absolutely it is a career choice. However, without college the best you're going to get in this regard is animal technician. |

I think it is, I'm not 100% sure. They have them in the US Army though I know for a fact. |
