War is heinous. That said, when there are people shooting at you and killing innocents, what are your options to stop it? Talking with those who hold views so extreme, they will kill those who don't think/ believe the same rarely works. 'War' is sometimes the only option left. The trouble is, when a person or group DOES resort to the use of force to stop such actions, said force must be strong and decisive. (AN analogy; It's like protecting yourself from a bear attack. The bear is not going to sit and talk to you. If you wound it, it will just get angry and may kill you. You must kill the bear to survive.) Basically it comes down to this; If you want to not fight, you must accept whatever comes your way, whether it be good or bad. If you want your choices, sometimes you must fight, and sometimes that fighting must be complete and decisive.
Al-Qaida has been operating around the world for around 20 years. We have not been strong and decisive enough, which has allowed them to become more sophisticated, though not much larger as a group. They originated when Bin Laden met an America-hater in Egypt...
{1986; Bin Laden Sets Up Camp, Builds Ties
Bin Laden establishes Al Masadah ("The Lion's Den"), a training camp for Persian Gulf Arabs. Bin Laden begins associating with Egyptian radicals -- who, unlike Sheik Abdullah Azzam, advocate a global jihad beyond Afghanistan -- and befriends Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad.
between 1992 and 1993, Mohammed Atef, an Egyptian aide to bin Laden, travels frequently to Somalia to organize violent attacks on U.S. and U.N. troops stationed there. After each trip he reports back to bin Laden in Khartoum.
Dec. 29, 1992
Al Qaeda's First Attack
In an apparent plot to kill U.S. servicemen headed to Somalia, a bomb explodes at a hotel in Aden, Yemen and kills two Austrian tourists. Two Yemeni Muslims -- who had been trained in Afghanistan -- are injured and later arrested. Intelligence officials believe this is Al Qaeda's first attack.
The Associated Press later reports that two of the Yemenis detained for the 2000 attack on the USS Cole were involved both in this 1992 Aden bombing, and a series of other attacks in 1993.}
That is only a tiny portion of the timeline of Al-Qaida, search for "Frontline, Al-Qaida timeline" as I have forgotten to copy the link.
The point is, this is what we're out there trying to stop, but we need to get and stay tough.
EDIT: FYI everyone; Pakistan and Afghanistan willingly harbor and Bin/ Laden and Al-Qaida as well as refusing to admit any citizen of theirs might be associated. That may not be terrorism itself, but 'enabling', in some cases (such as this), is just as bad. |

Do you think the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have ended terrorism then??? Really? |
|

You've got to be joking. War only leads to suffering of innocent people and doesn't stop terrorism in the slightest, it just makes things worse.
Look at the current situation in Gaza/Isreal. |

Actually, war is the best option to create, multiply and expand terrorism. |

War creates terrorism.
There cannot be peace without justice. |

Gotta have more explosions!

Was Pakistan responsible for that? Care to offer any proof, or are you just making stupid assumptions based on the religion of the perpetrators?
Pakistan is a greater victim of Islamic terrorists than India ever was. Ever heard of the Red Mosque Siege? Maybe the War in Waziristan? By your logic, maybe Pakistan would do well to declare a war on itself. |

Erm no, because war has never manged to end terrorism, solving the grievances of those of the more moderate persuasion is the only way terrorism has ever been ended. |

what evidence have you that Pakistan had anything to do with the attacks in Mumbai? They had false flag attack written all over them |
|

Mike..

Nope, it's war that sparks terrorism not resolves terrorism. Why should entire nations be condemned because of terrorist acts, these terrorists do not represent the Pakistani government or the Pakistani people. |

India almost did just that a couple of years ago. The consequence, however, would have been nuclear war.
But in this case, diplomacy has failed. If Hamas wants to stop the attack, it will stop launching the rockets. It's as simple as that.
EDIT -- I might add that India has not ended the terrorism. They're losing 1000 people a year to it. At some point, not even the nukes are going to matter. |

I think indians are terrorists. They have killed many people for development. The poor of India will rise and start freedom fighting against the developers. |

WELL. Lets look at the options.
1. Negotiate with the terrorists.
That usually means giving in to 'their demands'
2. Surrender.
That usually means giving in to their demands.
3. Let it slide and live with them.
That usually means giving in to their demands.
4. Fight them and don't let them kill us.
That usually means fighting a dirty war, but at least we are still relatively free.
5. Let them surrender to us.
That usually means they give in to our demands.
I can't think of any other ideas, can you? |

Pakistani officials/army/ISI/terrorist are idiots.
They want to fight and kill for no reason, what do they expect in return? Seriously, they say Muslims don't live well in India, well shut the **** up, they do. If they (Muslims in India) don't like it, no one is stopping them to leave to Pakistan (the proof, India is not a jail, you're free to do what you want).
Attack on Pakistan? Not sure, but it seems like they don't understand words very well. I also blame the India for being so friendly with them, India almost had a war in 2002, but a few years later they start opening borders so fast like nothing happened. The trains, the buses, etc.
IMO, the solution to that would be just to cut off links from Pakistan. Close the borders, don't let anyone come in, don't let anyone come out... less terrorists in India. |
