I'm guessing the latter. I think it just rubs them wrong that a Democrat will have to clean up the mess that Bush left. But what I think hurts them the most is that not only is Obama a Democrat but a black one at that. There goes that whole aryan supremacy theory.

We will see how he does with Afghanistan and then we will give him some credit. We already support him he is our President and I will give him the respect he deserves.

I'm republican and I don't believe we should be fighting in iraq anymore with the numbers of troops we are, but I know we can't just pull troops out...that would have harsh consquences. This, coming from a girl with a soldier but knowing sometimes it's good to do the right thing for the greater good.

I give credit to bush for declaring war. and i'll give credit to obama or anyone else who can pull america out of iraq slowly and responsibly...while leaving the needed amount of men and women over there.

Sometimes it's not about Republican and Democrat. It's about joining as one. C'mon now.

If he sticks to the current plan then things will be okay. If he ignores his generals and admirals and pulls out too fast to satisfy public opinion then that could cause problems. I'm going to support him since is my current commander in chief but since he has no military experience he needs to listen to his leadership. Technically, Iraq and Afghanistan are his wars since he is now the president.

Isn't he pulling troops out of Iraq as we speak? Afghanastan is a different story altogether,I may even go as far as saying America and her allies are almost justified in being there. The Taliban must be overthrown.

I have yet to hear any republican say that. But he is now the commander in chief, so they are now his "wars". Why is it when a republican doesn't support a president it's "unpatriotic", yet democrats that didn't support Bush are "patriotic". Your logic is messed up.
