I just took the ASVAB last night and I really didn't prepare like I probably should have...especially on the mechanical, electronic, auto and shop, and assembling objects...
I did however feel pretty confident about the math and verbal sections. I received a rough score of a 93.
What types of careers would I be eligible for if I didn't do well on the sections besides math and verbal? I'm not savvy in electronics, mechanics, building things, or automobiles obviously lol. So those are out of the question.
But which types of jobs could I do that do not involve those components?
I have a meeting with my recruiter when the "real" scores come in on Thursday so I'm sure he will tell me more about it. I just wanted an idea before that.
BTW I'm trying to be an officer in the Army.

A score of 50 on the ASVAB will qualify you for all but 2 jobs the Army has to offer. With a 93, your options are pretty much wide open.
Once you take the physical, you will find out if you disqualify for any jobs because of hearing, vision, or other medical issues. |

If you mean you got an AFQT score of 93 than I'd say you have nothing to worry about, it only goes up to 100, so 93 is a very high score.The minimum score to be allowed into the military is 35 (may vary depending on the branch).
The ASVAB has several different scores, one for each different test which is given as a percentile, and a few others that are used by military personnel to determine which MOS you qualify for and are best suited for.
With an AFQT of 93 you could take just about any MOS you want, but of course your scores on various things like auto and shop or electronics will help steer you toward something you would be better at. |
