Was the first gulf war a just war in the Catholic Church's opinion? Why or why not?

I recall the Pope giving his "blessing" to operations against Saddaam, because he was a bad guy that didn't want to listen to anyone, and who invaded another country with no provocation.

I also recall the Vatican being quite happy that the coalition stopped when it did.
