Leaving to Air Force Boot Camp SOON. 3 Weeks. Can anyone give me any word of advice? BMT? TECH SCHOOL? COME!!!?

I'm so nervous. It's in a couple of weeks now! any advices? Anything you guys can give me? I would like to know anything and everything.

main question is: Tech school.
How many days do we get off after tech school?
are the days guaranteed?
How long is my tech school?
How much college credit will i get out of tech school?

okay, i havent really been running or anything. in decent shape...
can do about 30 push up in a min, and 30 sit up in a min.

Tech school length and location for 2A533 will depend on which air frame (aircraft) you get assigned to learn. Depending on the airframe you will go to tech school at eiher Lackland AFB (same base as your basic training) or Sheppard AFB which is in north Texas near Oklahoma. In tech school you will go to school for 8 hours a day 5 days a week. You don't attend class on weekends.

Basic training; you will need to be able to do more than 30 push-ups and sit-ups in a minute. No need to sweat it too much, there will be plety of time for them to force you into shape ;) but the more in shape you are when you get there the better off you will be. It's equally as mentally tough as it is physically so just stick with it, it will seem hard while your there but once your done you'll realise that it wasn't that bad. KNOW your reporting statement, your recruiter should have etched that in your brain by now, hopefully. Main thing about basic is blend in... stay under the radar.

my husband just deped yesterday at meps for the Air Force and we have been researching for about 3 months now before he went yesterday to swear in and the advice i can give you is for the pt part you need to be in almost perfect shape just going in to basic if you don't you will be so sore and it will be tough threw the whole thing.My husband is at 50 push ups in min,50 sit ups in min but his run time is 14 min for 1.5 miles which you need 45 push ups 50 sit ups and 12min 1.5 miles run time so i would crunch in as much work outs as possible .For your job about how long tech school is go to this site about.com and type in Air Force job descriptions and it will tell you what you need for the scores to where tech school is and how long it is.His recruiter told him that they get weeks ends off in tech school but he's not sure. But al i can say is congrats and have fun and work out before hand and you will do Fine

Dont be nervous. the worst part of basic is the first 2 weeks after that your flight should be pulling together and it should get easier. Make sure u go to church every sunday. learn to eat fast. learn to shower fast. be neat. and never talk back to a ti or you ll be in your face pushing texas.

as for tech school if its in keesler than you will have every other friday as a down friday. and we also have mtl's here. they are kinda like mti's but not as mean and strict.

After Tech school you get a 12 days off before you are shipped to your first base location.

how long your Tech school is all depends on what career you choose.

you may want to start running in these last couple of weeks, because they say the big guys arent the ones who finish first...its the guys with the endurance.

you will be required to do 45 push ups in 1 min
and 45 sit up in 1 min
and run 1.5 miles in under 12 minutes
