Little Help Here?

I am wanting to get a memorial tattoo! I dont want your opions o n why you thinks its dumb or and all that! My question is this I have a few Ideas on what to get but just want to see what everyone else has ideas about~ My bestfriend He was also my daughters GodFather was killed in IRaq and I am wanting to get a tattoo in memo0ry of him! THis will be my 7th tattoo. I have 2 ideas one is Dogtags that say his name and day he was killed then fallen but never forgotten......My second idea is The m-16 with the helemt on the butt of the gun with the bayonett sticking in the ground with the boots...
Or some kinda combo of the two!! I really would like ideas of puttig the two together!! Thanks!

I like the idea of the combo of the 2 for the reason that it not only would honor your friends memory with the dog tags but the rifle with the helmet would also be a tribute to all who have payed the ultimate price. Kudos to you for such a wonderful idea!

The dogtags with the name or initials on one and KIA on the other, with not forgotton. The M16 is a little masculine. But just so you know, When you see the helment and M16 with the bayonet and boots in a ceremony, the dogtags are there too. They are hanging from the pistol grip. So if you want to throw that in there, that is the actual military ceremonial way of doing it. Paratroopers have spitshined jumpboots and the mother or girlfreind/wife should get the jump wings and the father/brother/bestfreind the beret.

I really like the dog tag idea...but, if you want a combo of the two, go to the tatoo parlor and tell them your idea....the tatoo artist should be able to draw you something that may interest you...good luck

I like the dogtag idea too. Where are you going to put it? The M-16 would look cool on the outer ankle or something but I think it sounds a little butch. If that is not what you want to imply, then go for the dogtags. Ok, maybe not "butch", but hardcore. I think any form of tribute/memorial tattoo for this guy is a good idea. I have a memorial tattoo to my grandparents but you wouldn't know by looking at it. It is a hummingbird with a star. Only my family can tell who it is for.
