hi i am train to figure out how much money ill have aftet AF bmt and tech school assuming bmt is 8 1/2 weeks and my tech school its about 6 weeks and ill do the recruiters assistant program 2 weeks total of 4 month also i am married do i get regular bah while in bmt and tech school? is so ill get 1674 (miami rate) lets say ill spend 500 bucks while in bmt and tech school ill end up with abou (10500) or so, do i get any other benefits like family separation or the Standard Initial Clothing Allowance at this time? am i right with the math? any comments? thanks in advanced.

BAH w/dependents will be per month and is based on your Rank and zip code you enlisted at, if it is Miami then that is the amount you will get, it is including in the pay on the 15th & 1st.
Family Sep is after 30 days and is $250 per month
E1 w/less than 4 months is $1294 per month before deductions. Remember you still pay taxes, medicare, Social Security. You also have to pay SGLI ($27 per month for life insurance), FSGLI (up to $10 per month for family life insurance for spouse), AFRH ($.50 per month), GI Bill ($100 per month) & Advance Pay of up to $300 (for necessities you needed going into BMT). Your pay after deductions is around $450/$500 per payday, with BAH (if at that amount) then around $1300 per pay day.
Standard Initial clothing allowance is paid to you but then taken right back out so don't even count it.
You will spend more than $200 at BMT, phone cards, snacks, movie rentals, dining out, etc...
After 4 months of $2600 a month it is around $10,000 but that is before you pay any loans, rent, groceries, gas, insurance, etc... for your spouse. |
