lets say you encounter an enemy on patrol on tour.
you engage him. eliminate him.
hes dead on the side of the road.
can u pick up his gun as a souvinier
or any other item?
why or why not

its not sick . im not talking about cutting off his ear im saying a gun.

You can pick up his gun, but only for certain reasons:
-You can keep it while your in country but you can't take it back to the states with you.And you can't use it operationally.And this only applies to certain units.
-Taking the weapon to have it turned in.To keep it out of enemy hands.
-Certain special operations may use them as back up or to confuse the enemy in certain operations.
Weapons that can't be taken, such as during house-to-house fighting are often destroyed in place.Items I have taken are uniforms,hats,ammo pouches, helmets, bayonets.What can't be brought back is anything that will/or is meant to explode.Also anything that is contaminated(by chemical agents,blood,or encrusted with sand or dirt).This is to prevent contamination from foreign soil. |

Personal effects of enemy fighters or prisoners and weapons, pieces of weapons and ordnance are not authorized "souvenirs". |

Why would you want a souvenir of someone you killed?
