I know already, many people want to, and plan on enlisting to try out for the Seals.
But do you think there has a been an increase in the number of people wanting to be Seals, since the Seals took out those pirates?
I think I have seen an increase in Seal questions on Y!A, and its all been right after the pirate showdown.
just curious , because although the Seals were just doing there job, they also seemed to inspire a lot of others to try and join there ranks.

I call it the "Bandwagon" syndrome.
Just watch - if a military telephone repairman does something really cool, there would be a bunch of folks talking about becoming telephone repairmen... and who would win in a fight - a Marine tele-repair or an Army Tele-repair.
It makes me laugh. And, of course the huge majority of folks just want to join the Navy to be Seals, Marines to be Force Recon or snipers, Army to be Green Berets or snipers, Air Force to be combat controllers or para-rescue, or Coast Guard to be rescue swimmers.
It's just human nature. After the Jessica Lynch situation, you should have seen the recruiting offices fill up with people that wanted to be truck drivers on convoy duty. |

i think this whole "pirate" BS is over rated, i mean why dont the ship crew members already have weapons on board to defend themselves from the stupid so called pirates. as for the SEAL thing, dude most people are too scared of the idea of being in a dangerous situation, like my chicken $hit friend who tries to act all tough but is actually afraid of joining the military! lol besides i dont think the whole pirate crap is only a SEALs "jurisdiction" i bet most already 4 got about it...because it has nothing to do with their self centered every day pathetic lifes, .... |
