Moving to America, or British for military purposes?

Hey guys. I really need help right now. Currently, I have been given a choice from my father on either going to America or U.K. Now my main goals of life is to join one of their military forces (And hopefully join the SEALS or the S.A.S). Now this is giving me a huge headache because both military forces are quiet excellent and i can't say which is better. After I choose where to live, my father or myself are going to make a citizenship there in whichever country i get. Now I really don't want to regret on choosing which one, i really don't want to. And I am also the type of guy who always wants to be the best. Can anyone give me any guidance or tips on which one i should go? should i study in america and join their Army? move to U.K and join the British Army? Study in America and join British Army? or Study in U.K and join the U.S Army? I know, the last 2 idea sounds kinda stupid... Well, thanks guys....

British Army: At least 3 years to get citizenship
U.S Military: 5-10 years

If its that long on joining both, then i will, I'll wait, rather than just being a business man or something like that like my mom hoped for me.... As long i can join either one of them... Now seriously, can you tell me the benfits?

As I have lived on BOTH sides of the Pond, British born, and now, an American citizen.
My knowledge of the British Army! (YEAH! I know a lot of people will say, BUT! SHE'S a WOMAN! WHAT DOES SHE KNOW!!!!
i KNOW LOTS! I was born in a town in the North of England, close to the Largest training Camp in the UK! Catterick Camp!! I would advise you to search the Internet, and read up on it on your own, especially if and when you decide to settle in England and make the Army your career! Remember, you will be a foreigner there, and they will wonder why you want to join the British Army, especially the way things are today. The word I am trying to impress on you, is "suspicion" - not knowing what country you are from.
As for America, I have had three of my children in the Military - all in the Marines. You have a better chance of mixing in with the American Military, and right now, they seem to be short handed!!
Of course, BOTH countries, you will have to go through the process with Immigration, unless, your father has some kind of Diplomatic interests in this country. I don't think you can go directly into the military, right off the boat! To get your citizenship here, is five long years!
It sounds to me, you are rather young, and you do seem interested in going to college. That in itself, will help you apply for officer's training, but, you must graduate and have good grades for you to be considered!!!
Give yourself time, and enjoy college life, before plunging into something where you might not even survive the length of your service. There will always be wars, some worse than others, and there is a fifty fifty chance you WILL get wounded or worse.
Dead heroes.are soon forgotten except for the families, and there is no reward for giving up your life to ungrateful people!
As a mother, I let my children go into the Military, and fortunately, nothing really bad happened to them. They were ALL young when they went in and they were smart enough to gleen knowledge from their experiences, which enabled them to thrive and prosper when they got out! I guess, you could call them, the lucky ones!
Last paragraph!!! My opinion!! American or British, you will still be fighting an enemy, but give yourself time, plenty of thought and live a little before making your decision, and most of all, listen to your mother! Your mother didn't give you life for you to go throw it away on a lost cause!!!!

what country are you a citizen of? in order to enlist in the US Military if not a citizen you must have your permanent residency already in hand.. the military cannot help you get your Green card. nor will it help you emigrate. getting your green card can easily be a 5-10 year process. nor can you just move here and expect to be allowed to stay permanently. and a Student visa IS NOT ENOUGH. Must be a legal Green Card holder eligible to work

Entirly up to you, if you wanna be troop then do british as there best trained in the world, anything else then US.

Join the military in your country first - you may like it and stay in your country...
